AFED Office Bearers Grace the Groundbreaking of DSM Jamaat Projects

On 18th January 2025, the Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri Jamaat of Dar es Salaam marked a historic milestone with the ground-breaking ceremony of three projects aimed for the betterment of the community. The event was graced by the presence of the Africa Federation Chairman, Alhaj Amine Nassor, along with the immediate past AFED office bearers Alhaj Aunali Khalfan, Vice Chairman, Alhaj Zuhair Jaffer, Hon. Secretary, Alhaj Zainul Chandoo, Hon. Treasurer, Alhaj Muntazir Walji, Hon. Assistant Treasurer, Br. Mohamedamir Hamza, Hon. Assistant Secretary, and Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi, AFED Trustee, he is also past Chairman of Africa Federation and past President of the World Federation.
Also, in attendance was Alhaj Safdar Jaffer, President of World Federation, Alhaj Arifali Hirji, President of COEJ, Alhaj Arif Jacksi, President of NASIMCO, Alhaj Suhel Bhurani, President of India Federation, Alhaj Habib Meghjee, Vice President of the World Federation, Alhaj Aliraza Rajani, past President of Dar es Salaam Jamaat and community members who gathered to witness the launch of the three projects.


The projects unveiled by the Jamaat reflects unwavering commitment to advancing Islamic education, healthcare and social welfare. These initiatives are set to uplift the lives of community members by providing healthcare, comprehensive Islamic education, and a compassionate living space for vulnerable individuals.
Project Hayat: A Landmark Healthcare Initiative
Project Hayat is set to become an ultra modern hospital, equipped with cutting-edge medical facilities and staffed by 150+ highly qualified medical professionals. The hospital will feature advanced diagnostic equipment, specialized treatment with a focus on holistic patient care, ensuring that the community receives top-tier medical services. The project aims to bridge the gap in healthcare accessibility and improve overall wellness for residents of Dar es Salaam and beyond.
Madressah Project: Elevating Islamic Education
The Madressa Project is a pioneering 12 plus floor educational centre designed to cater to over 1,300 children. This facility aims to enhance Islamic education by integrating modern teaching methodologies with traditional religious studies, fostering a well-rounded learning experience for students.
A distinctive feature of this project is the dedicated Qur'an floor, which will focus on hifdh (memorization), Quranic arts, and research collaboration. This floor is envisioned to become a centre of excellence for Islamic knowledge, where students can engage in studies and discussions under the guidance of esteemed scholars.
Moreover, the direct connection to the Imambargha ensures that students maintain a seamless spiritual and educational experience, reinforcing both academic knowledge and spiritual devotion.
Community Haven Project: A Sanctuary of Care and Inclusion
The Fatmabai & Rajabali bhai Dharamsi Haven is an initiative that will provide safe, dignified, and comfortable housing for widows, the disabled, and individuals with special needs. Designed with accessibility and inclusivity in mind, the facility will feature barrier-free living spaces, recreational areas, and personalized support services to ensure a fulfilling and independent lifestyle for its residents with a direct link to the Imambargha, which will allow residents to remain actively engaged in spiritual, social and communal activities.
Speaking at the ceremony, Africa Federation Chairman, Alhaj Amine Nassor, commended KSIJ Dar es Salaam leadership for its vision in spearheading these projects. He emphasized the significance of these developments in enhancing the well-being of the community and strengthening its foundation of compassion, especially for the vulnerable and underprivileged members of our community.
He reiterated that these projects symbolize collective commitment to progress. With state-of-the-art healthcare, top-tier education, and benevolence care for the vulnerable, we are laying the foundation for a brighter, stronger and compassionate community.



Other distinguished speakers echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the good impact these projects will have on the community.

The ground-breaking ceremony marked the beginning of a journey towards a more inspired, educated, and healthier community. The leadership of KSIJ Dar es Salaam urges all community members to support these noble endeavours.
The event concluded with duas thereafter the ceremony of laying of bricks to mark the ground breaking which was then followed by dinner.




We extend our felicitations to the KSI Jamaat of Dar es Salaam for initiating these projects and we pray to Allah (SWT) for the success of these projects for the betterment of our community at large.
We request for Sura-e-Fateha for the Marhumeen of the donors, for all the past leaders and volunteers of our Community and all the Marhumeen who have sacrificed their time, services and resources, in building a strong foundation of our Community that we all benefit today.
