The Tabligh Board of Africa Federation (AFTAB), successfully conducted a series of Spiritual Development Programs (SDP), Masterclasses, and a Train-the-Trainer (TTT) programs across Nairobi and Mombasa between 8th and 16th November 2025, engaging over 200 participants from multiple regions.
Spiritual Development Programme (SDP) – Nairobi
Dates: 8th and 9th November 2025
Participants: 19
Duration: Two full days
The SDP is an interactive program conducted by Sheikh Mohamedali Ismail (MCE, UK), assisted by ZishanFatema bai Karim and Shakeel bhai Sheriff (AFTAB).
The program focused on enlightening the mind regarding the faculties of the soul and the role of the intellect in maintaining equilibrium. Participants explored how conscious use of the intellect enables these faculties to function harmoniously, an art that SDP assists in cultivating through reflection, discussion, and practical engagement.

Masterclass – Mombasa
Dates: 11th and 12th November 2025
Participants: 74
Duration: Two sessions of two hours each
Masterclass – Nairobi
Dates: 13th and 14th November 2025
Participants: 95
Duration: Two sessions of two hours each
Both Masterclasses were conducted by Sheikh Mohamedali Ismail. Key themes included the Realm of Barzakh, Embodiment of Deeds, Scales of Justice, Intercession, and Meeting Our Lord before entering Jannah. These sessions were delivered through highly interactive processes, enabling participants to reflect deeply on the final journey using Qur’anic references, self-assessments, analogies, and real-life examples.
Participants shared powerful reflections, noting clarity of thought, deeper understanding of post-death stages, strong engagement through metaphors, and appreciation for the calm energy and facilitation style of the speaker. Many expressed a desire for further sessions across different stages of life.
SDP / Train-the-Trainer (TTT) – Nairobi
Dates: 15th and 16th November 2025
Participants: 26
Duration: Two full days
Following a successful TTT session previously held in Dar es Salaam for Tanzanian facilitators, Sheikh Mohamedali Ismail facilitated another TTT program in Nairobi for participants from Kampala (5), Mauritius (2), Mombasa (5), and Nairobi (14), assisted by Br. Hameed Sheriff (Arusha).
The first half of 15th November 2025 was dedicated to revising all SDP modules. Thereafter, participants were paired and assigned modules to prepare and deliver presentations starting from 4:00 pm on Saturday, continuing throughout Sunday. In addition to core modules, three supplementary sessions were introduced to strengthen future SDP delivery:
Marketing and poster preparation
Enhancing presentation slide
Developing materials and activities to make SDP sessions more vibrant and engaging

Participants highlighted the practicality of the sessions, peer learning, feedback mechanisms, skits, group activities, and informal guidance provided by the facilitators. Many felt that while the program was highly impactful, two days were insufficient, reflecting the value and depth of the experience.
Logistic Support & Volunteers
Hayderi Madressah, Nairobi played a vital role in managing logistics across the entire ten-day program. They also provided two youth volunteers per day during the SDP/TTT to ensure smooth operations. The volunteers’ dedication and support were instrumental to the success of the program.

Overall Impact
Feedback from participants across all programmers reflected:
Enhanced clarity of purpose and understanding of the akhirah
Strong engagement through interactive and reflective methodologies
Appreciation for structured feedback, real-life examples, and Qur’anic integration
Gratitude for the facilitators’ humility, organization, and teaching approach
The programmers’ marked a significant step in strengthening spiritual awareness, facilitator capacity, and regional collaboration under AFED and AFTAB initiatives.
Special Comments on the Impact of SDP and Masterclasses

Several participants noted that the sessions helped in the clarification of thoughts and provided a deeper understanding of the final journey, particularly the stages after death. The structured flow of the sessions, supported by Qur’anic references and self-assessment exercises, enabled participants to reflect on their personal spiritual state.
