The AFED Women’s Board successfully organized the Milad-e-Sadiqain programme on Saturday 20th September, 2025 bringing together eight Jamaats in Africa on one virtual platform via Zoom. This blessed occasion celebrated the lives and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.w) and Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (a.s.), with a variety of recitations, speeches, manqabat, and interactive activities.

Participating Jamaats
Arusha – 85 attendees
Dar es Salaam – 200 attendees
Kampala – 61 attendees
Kigali – 38 attendees
Lilongwe – 42 attendees (despite ongoing elections in Malawi)
Mombasa – 125 attendees
Nairobi – 60 attendees
Zanzibar – 65 attendees
The programme was graced with Tilawat-e-Qur’an, enlightening speeches from youth and women across the regions, heartfelt manqabat, and a specially designed quiz segment which engaged participants from all Jamaats.
Quiz Segment
The quiz was the highlight of the programme, with participants demonstrating strong knowledge and enthusiasm. Nairobi and Mombasa Jamaats emerged as joint winners of the quiz. A trophy will be presented to each winning Jamaat, along with tokens of appreciation for the winning sisters.
Winning Teams

Furthermore, all quiz participants will be recognized with certificates of participation for their valuable efforts.
Raffle Draw
The event also featured a raffle draw, in which two Ziyarat ground packages were awarded. The blessed winners were:
Sister Suroor Saqlain - Kigali Jamaat
Sister Farida Sajan - Arusha Jamaat
The AFED Women’s Board will soon organize the Ziyarat trip, and these two sisters will, InshaAllah, be part of this spiritual journey.
The Milad-e-Sadiqain programme was a great success, reflecting the unity and spirit of our communities. With over 676 attendees across eight Jamaats, the event not only celebrated the Seerat of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.w) and Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (a.s.) but also strengthened bonds between our sisters across the region.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Ladies Managing Committee of the participating Jamaats for their support, the participants, organizers and all those who attended the Milad Programs in their respective Jamaat for making this programme memorable and spiritually uplifting.
