The Holy Month of Ramadhan 1447 AH - Message from the Chairman of Africa Federation

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

“O People! The month of Allah (Ramadhan) has approached you with His mercy and blessings. This is the month that is the best of all months in the estimation of Allah. Its days are the best among the days; its nights are the best among the nights. Its hours are the best among the hours”.

[Holy Prophet Mohammad (SAWW)]

With humility and gratitude to Almighty Allah SWT, we welcome the blessed month of Ramadhan, a month of divine mercy, boundless forgiveness, and immeasurable opportunity.

On behalf of the Office Bearers, Trustees, Councillors, and the Secretariat of the Africa Federation, I extend my heartfelt Ramadhan greetings to you and your families across Africa and globally.

The Holy month of Ramadhan is not merely a month of spirituality; it is a month of transformation. It is a sacred season that calls upon us to purify our hearts, discipline our souls, strengthen our faith, and renew our covenant with Allah SWT. It is an opportunity to rise above our shortcomings and reconnect with our higher purpose.

At a time when the world faces political uncertainty, economic strain, social division, and humanitarian crises, the Holy month of Ramadhan reminds us of our responsibility to remain steadfast in faith, united in purpose, and compassionate in action. We must be deliberate in our decisions, wise in our leadership, and proactive in safeguarding our community against emerging challenges. Faith must guide our foresight.

This year holds special significance as the Africa Federation marks 80 years since its establishment. Eight decades of vision, sacrifice, unity, and service. We stand today on foundations built by our forefathers whose foresight, courage, and dedication shaped the institutions that continue to serve us.

As we commemorate this milestone, we must not only celebrate our history, we must honour it by strengthening our institutions, empowering our youth, and planning strategically for the next 80 years. Our responsibility is not only to preserve what we inherited, but to elevate it for generations to come.

Following the elections in April 2025 and the Conference in June 2025, the newly elected Office Bearers and appointed Boards have embarked upon their mandate with renewed energy and commitment. Our Boards, the operational arms of the Secretariat, have actively delivered impactful programs, while our Media Team has significantly enhanced engagement and visibility across digital platforms, ensuring transparency and connection with our Community.

However, the strength of the Africa Federation lies not only in its leadership. It lies in its people.

We therefore humbly appeal to our Community members across Africa and the diaspora to support the work of the Africa Federation through your contributions and donations. Your generosity directly assists families in need by supporting education, medical aid, and essential social welfare programs. Supporting the Africa Federation is not only an act of generosity. It is an investment in the strength, dignity, and future of our Community.

Allah SWT reminds us in the Holy Quran:

“Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds and establish prayer and give zakat will have their reward with their Lord and there will be no fear concerning them nor will they grieve.”

(Surah Al Baqarah 2:277)

Let this Holy month of Ramadhan be a month where our charity reflects our gratitude and our generosity reflects our faith.

We pray earnestly for peace, security, and dignity for all people across the world. May Allah SWT bring an end to oppression, injustice, persecution, and the suffering of innocent lives.

As we embrace this sacred month, let us pause to remember those who were with us last Ramadhan and are no longer among us. Life is temporary. Our journey is short. Our destination is eternal. Let us use this precious time wisely, accumulating provisions of sincerity, kindness, service, and righteousness for our Aakherat.

Let us remember all our Marhumeen and recite Surah Al Fateha for the Maghferat of their souls.

May Allah SWT grant us the tawfeeq to fast with sincerity, pray with humility, give with generosity, and emerge from this Ramadhan spiritually elevated and united as a stronger Community.
