Eid al-Adha 1447 A.H.
Message from the Chairman of Africa Federation

"And the Hajj is incumbent upon mankind for the sake of Allah, for those who can afford to undertake journey to it; and whoever denies, then surely Allah is Self-sufficient, independent of the worlds",
Surah Ale Imran, (3:97).
Eid-al-Adha is a manifestation of self-sacrifice, commitment and obedience to Allah (SWT), it commemorates the great act of obedience to Allah (SWT) by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) in showing his willingness to sacrifice his son Ismael (AS).
Muslims from all over the world have gathered in Makkah to perform the Hajj, they have gathered for one purpose and that is to declare their servitude and loyalty to Allah (SWT) alone.
Hajj symbolizes unity and universality, it is the most evident and effective lesson of quality and brotherhood to mankind, self-sacrifice and it is the pillar of unity in one belief and faith in One God. The Talbiyah (Dua) below recited by all the Hujjaj before entering Makkah, encompasses the concept of Tahwid or oneness of Allah (SWT) by stating;
“Labbaik, Allahumma Labbaik, Labbaik La Sharika laka Labbaik. Inn-al-Hamda Wan-Ni'mata Laka wal-Mulk, La Sharika Lak”.“
I respond to Your call O Allah! I respond to Your call. You have no partner. I respond to Your call. All praise, thanks and blessings are for You. All sovereignty is for You. And You have no partners with You.”
Hajj also presents an opportunity to eradicate inequality in mankind, usher inner feeling of humbleness and prepare the mind for death, and most importantly strengthens the faith of a true believer in Allah (SWT).
We as a Community should take lessons from this obligatory act of Hajj and stay united so that we can withstand the challenges our faith faces in the current difficult times and work together to bring progress and development within the Community, and to assist our Global Community who are in difficulties.
We pray for the successful completion by the Hujjaj of the Hajj rituals as they experience the amazing spiritual journey. May they return back home safe and spiritually elevated and may each and every one of us be granted the opportunity to perform this divine obligatory act in submission to our Lord, Ameen.
Alhamdullilah, we have completed successfully the first year of our term of office; 2025-2028 and we look forward for more successes and progress for the remainder of the term. The Secretariat and the Boards presented progress reports and the challenges at the 90th Supreme Council Session of Africa Federation which was held in Nairobi from 1st to 3rd May 2026. Sadly, we are in a period the world is facing a multifaceted global crisis involving armed conflicts, economic instability, and humanitarian emergencies affecting millions of people worldwide. The economic and financial pressure will escalate due to these unfortunate factors we are witnessing, and there are no signs of de-escalation of these soon. We pray to Allah (SWT) with the blessings of Ahlulbayt (AS) for peace and tranquility to prevail in all parts of the world, Aameen.
On the blessed occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, let us join hands in heartfelt prayers for the long life, good health, and safety of our Marja-e-Taqleed, Ayatullah Al Uzma Al Sayyid Ali Hussaini Al Sistani. I also request every member of the community to pray for peace and safety of all our Muslim brothers and sisters in all parts of the world.
On this joyous occasion of Eid al Adha, I extend to all Community members Eid Mubarak on behalf of the Africa Federation Office Bearers, Trustees, Board Chairpersons, Councillors, and on my own behalf.
