BMM Tanzania - Bilal Tanga Ramadhan 1446 (A.H.) Report

The Bilal Muslim Tanga Branch, in collaboration with Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania and the Mainstay Foundation, organized a series of activities and community support during the Holy Month of Ramadhan 1446 AH. These efforts aimed at serving the community, providing essential goods,  promoting education, and strengthening the faith of both students and Mo’mineen.


Ramadhan Relief (Food Distribution)


Bilal Muslim Tanga, with assistance from  Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania and the Mainstay Foundation, distributed essential food supplies to support  Madrasah students, teachers, and Mo’mineen during this blessed month.


Madrasah students who maintained good attendance were each given 5 kg of rice,  5 kg of beans, and 2 kg of sugar. A total of 3,743 students benefited from this initiative.


Mo’mineen and teachers, each, received  5 kg of rice, 5 kg of wheat flour, 5 kg of beans, 2 kg of sugar, 2 kg of spaghetti, and 3 liters of cooking oil. This distribution benefited 2,747 households, bringing the total number of family members supported to 6,490.



Quiz Program


To enhance learning during the Holy Month of Ramadhan, Bilal Tanga organized and exciting Quiz Program that ran alongside regular Qur’an Darsa and Dua/Lecture sessions. The Quiz program was designed to make learning engaging and fun with questions covering a range of topics such as: 


  • Qur’an

  • Islamic history

  • Fiqh

  • General Islamic knowledge

  • General knowledge and current affairs


The quiz was conducted in a way that each group which comprised of both students and Mo’mineen, had a chance to win. The program started on Friday, 7th March 2025 (6th Ramadhan, 1446 AH), and continued until Friday, 28th March 2025 (28th Ramadhan, 1446 AH). Questions were projected live on the screen to keep participants engaged and excited.



Qur'an Recitation and Dua Iftitah:


Qur’an recitation was regularly held after Dhuhrain prayers and Iftar:


  • For Hawza students and Mo’mineen, Qur’an recitation took place in the mosque.

  • For Madrasah students, recitation was held in Husainiyah


Following the Qur’an recitation, Dua Iftitah was recited in Husainiya.


Majlis to Commemorate the Martyrdom of Imam Ali (A.S.):


Bilal Tanga hosted special Majlis to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Ali (AS) on the 19th and 21st nights of Ramadhan.These gatherings allowed Mo’mineen to reflect on the legacy of Imam Ali (A.S.) and seek spiritual enrichment.



A’amal Nights of Lailatul Qadr:


During the A’amal nights of Lailatul Qadr, Mo’mineen gathered at the mosque to seek the pleasure and forgiveness of Allah (SWT). These nights were a time for intense prayer, reflection, and supplication as Mo’mineen sought to maximize the blessings of Ramadhan.



Holy Qur’an Competition


Bilal Tanga organized a Holy Qur'an competition for Hawzah, Madrasah students and Mo’mineena, who were judged on Quran Hifdh, Tarteel, and Tajweed. The competition took place on the following dates:


  • Hawzat Zahra (AS): The competition was conducted on Saturday, 22nd March 2025 (Night of 22nd Ramadhan, 1446 AH) for Hawza and Madrasah students in the categories of Hifadh and Tarteel.

  • Hawzat Qaim (ATFS): The competition took place on Monday, 24th March 2025 (Night of 24th Ramadhan,1446 AH) for Hawzat Qaim students, and Tuesday, 25th March 2025 for Madrasah students and Mo’mineen after Dua Iftitah.



Prize Giving Ceremony:


A prize-giving ceremony was held on Saturday, 29th March 2025 (28th  Ramadhan, 1446 AH) after Dua Iftitah in the Husainiya Hall. The ceremony recognized the winners of various competitions, including the Qur’an competition and the Quiz competition.



The activities organized by Bilal Muslim Tanga during Ramadhan, 1446 A.H, were not only aimed at providing essential food support to students and families but also focused on spiritual development and community engagement. The distribution of food, educational initiatives like the Quiz program and Qur'an competition and  special  religious  observances such as Majlis and A’amal nights created a sense of unity and devotion  among the community. Bilal Muslim Tanga's efforts throughout the month of Ramadhan brought the community together and provided both  material  and  spiritual  nourishment to all participants.


The events were a success, thanks to the generous support of the Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania and the Mainstay Foundation and the dedicated involvement of volunteers, teachers, and community members.
