Appeal - Upliftment of the KSIJ Mtwara Masjid and Imambargha

“The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed which grows seven spikes, in each spike is a hundred grains. Allah multiplies His reward for whom He wills, for Allah is vast and knowing”.

Mosques hold immense importance in Islam as they are the heart of the local community, serving as a place of worship, spiritual growth, and education. Many benefit from the daily congregational prayers, Tabligh programs, and Madrasah facilities for children, among other community activities.

In 2022, the Federation facilitated the overall upliftment of the KSIJ Mtwara Madrasah building, including the addition of washrooms, replacement of carpets in the Imambargha and Masjid, and internal painting of the Masjid. The KSIJ Mtwara Masjid and Imambargha are now once again in need of major rehabilitation.

An inspection carried out on 4^th June 2025 revealed that immediate attention is required. Due to heavy rains, the roofs of both the Masjid and the Imambargha have started leaking. The inspection identified the following areas in need of repair and replacement:

• Roof sheets along with wooden trusses

• Ceiling

• Minor plaster repairs

• Electrical works including distribution boards, wiring, earthing, lights, and fans

• Painting of the entire centre

The Housing Development Board of the Africa Federation will oversee this renovation project. The total estimated cost of the works is approximately USD 30,000.

We appeal to our Community members to donate generously towards this noble project of Thawab-e-Jariyah. Each donation will Insha’allah be rewarded amply, there is no such as big or small amounts when giving for a noble cause for the pleasure of Allah (SWT).

The Africa Federation Secretariat is therefore appealing to the members of our Community and also the Diaspora from East Africa, and specially those from Mtwara/Mikindani to contribute generously towards this project.
