Al Wahda Ladies Interfaith Throwball Tournament 2024 held in Arusha

The Al Wahda Ladies Throwball Tournament under the AFED Sports Council took place from June 27th to June 29th, 2024, in the vibrant city of Arusha. The event brought together seven teams from three regions, namely, Arusha, Dar es Salaam and Nairobi showcasing the diversity and talent in ladies' throwball. This was good achievement considering it was the first time a tournament of this kind was organized by the Sports Council of Africa Federation. A total of 76 ladies from different communities participated in this event. The tournament was played at the Jaffery Sports Complex in Arusha, it was exclusively for ladies only.

Though our expectation were high looking at our Jamaats and especially ladies who have been lacking such events would have shown the enthusiasm in participating in this tournament thereby providing opportunity to interact and build bridges of friendship with ladies from other communities and faith. Tournaments and events of these types provides platform to showcase the talents and strengthen the unity and togetherness amongst ourselves and the communities around us.

The opening ceremony of the tournament was held on Thursday 27th June 2024 at the Jaffery Academy Hall, Arusha. The ceremony was graced by the ladies who are in leadership positions of the communities in Arusha, players and invitees.
