Throughout Muharram and Safar, reflective majalis sessions were held at 46 locations across several Kenyan regions. Generous support from worldwide donors enabled the mission to hold dignified commemorations during both Ashara Sajjadiyya and Ashara Zainabiyya, with the largest gatherings experienced around Arbaeen. The majalis strengthened community bonds and played a crucial role in reviving the messages taught by the Holy Quran and the Ahlulbayt, featuring young Quran and latmiyat reciters, Bilal Kenya’s muballigheen, as well as guest speakers from Lamu and Tanzania. Programs were conducted in Swahili and other native languages. Other complementary programs included processions, a blood drive and participation in a radio segment.

This pictorial report is a testament to the varied settings in which the timeless sacrifices of the party of Allah swt were remembered, bringing to mind the famous words of our Holy Prophet Muhammad (s) – ‘Surely, there exists in the hearts of the Mu'mineen, with respect to the martyrdom of Hussain (as), a heat that never subsides.’

Final Reflections

We thank all our generous donors, volunteers who served quietly in the background and all those who participated. May the message of Karbala live on through majalis, community bonds and the values instilled in our youth.

We also thank Africa Federation and World Federation for their long-standing support and encouragement.

We pray for the quick reappearance of Imam Al Hujjah (a.t.f.s).
