The Spiritual Development Program (SDP), a transformative initiative aimed at nurturing spiritual growth and enlightenment, recently concluded its in-person session from 5th to 13th August 2023. The event witnessed a participation of 90 Madrasah Teachers, who were divided into three batches of 30 each for an intensive journey of self-discovery and spiritual enlightenment.
The SDP's structured curriculum included a series of engaging sessions conducted over two full days. It offered practical advice for Madrasah teachers on enhancing their spirituality, guidance on fostering a more positive impact on the children under their tutelage, promotion of spirituality within the classroom environment and provides support for Madrasah teachers in becoming influential role models to their students. The program's innovative approach was designed to provide teachers with the tools to deepen their spiritual understanding and connection.
Noteworthy moments during the event included the presence of distinguished guests. For the first batch, Aunali Bhai Khalfan graced the closing ceremony as a representative of the AFED. In his address, he emphasized AFED's steadfast commitment to supporting such events and initiatives that contribute to individual and communal spiritual growth.
The second batch of participants had the honor of receiving certificates from Zainul Bhai Chandoo, adding a sense of accomplishment to their journey of enlightenment. Meanwhile, the third batch witnessed a heartfelt expression of gratitude from Fatema Bai Kermalli, who extended her sincere thanks to the dedicated teachers for their invaluable time and commitment to enhancing the spiritual knowledge of all attendees.
Alhaj Hameed Sheriff, Head of AFTAB Madrasah, extended his gratitude to Sheikh Mohammed Ali Ismail for his pivotal role in the program's success. This on-site SDP marked a significant milestone, being the first time, the program took place in person within Africa. Previously, the sessions were held virtually on Zoom, with participants joining from Arusha, Nairobi, and Mombasa, particularly during the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic.
AFTAB expresses its deep gratitude to AFED Office Bearers for their continuous support backing, and also extends appreciation to the AFED Administration for their invaluable assistance in ensuring the smooth execution of the program.
Special recognition goes to the AFTAB Board, with a heartfelt acknowledgment to the AFTAB Chairman and Hon Secretary whose virtual presence and spiritual guidance proved to be a source of strength despite the geographical distance.

The SDP event concluded on a high note, leaving participants inspired, enlightened, and equipped with spiritual insights that are bound to positively impact their personal and communal journeys.
