Employment Opportunity - CBB - Chief Missionary

Post: Chief Missionary:

The Central Bilal Board (CBB) seeks to employ a suitably qualified male person for the above position in Bilal Muslim Mission.


The post holder will be responsible for providing religious, educational, and strategic leadership across Bilal Missions in East Africa; which includes; Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, and also Malawi, Rwanda, Burundi and Mozambique located in South-East Africa.


The office of Chief Missionary will be either in Mombasa, Kenya or Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.


Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Religious and Social Sciences and who shall have completed minimum seven (7) years of Islamic studies in a renowned Hawza (Islamic Seminary).


Applicants with the following qualifications and skills will have an added advantage:

  1. Strong Islamic education with grounding in Ja‘fari jurisprudence and theology.

  2. Proven experience in missionary or religious leadership roles.

  3. Good written and spoken communication skills in English and Arabic.

  4. Ability and skills to communicate effectively with the Scholars and others.

  5. Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  6. Ability to interact and to build bridges of good relationships with other communities, faiths and religion.

  7. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

  8. Willingness to travel extensively across the different regions in Africa.

  9. Should be competent in report writing and should be computer literate.
