In response to the rising number of malaria and dengue cases reported across Dar es Salaam, the Central Health Board (CHB) of the Africa Federation joined hands with Care & Cure Medical Centre in a proactive campaign to curb the spread of these mosquito borne illnesses.
One Mission, Early Detection Saves Lives
The one month campaign, which ran through 1st July 2025 to 31st July 2025, offered malaria and dengue tests at a subsidized rate of just TZS 20,000 compared to the standard rate of TZS 53,000. The offer was open to everyone regardless of age, gender, or affiliation and aimed to encourage early testing, timely diagnosis, and informed medical intervention.
Campaign Highlights
• Total beneficiaries - 441 individuals
• Original price per test - TZS 53,000
• Subsidized price offered - TZS 20,000
• Total savings - TZS 14,553,000
Gender Distribution
• Male patients - 255 (57.8%)
• Female patients - 186 (42.2%)
Test Outcomes
• Malaria positive cases - 46 (10.4%)
• Dengue-positive cases - 82 (18.6%)
• No signs of infection - 313 (71%)

These results highlight the importance of timely testing, particularly as a significant number of asymptomatic individuals might otherwise go undiagnosed, potentially putting themselves and others at risk.
