On Friday, 14th March 2025, the Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania (BMMT) Headquarters hosted a successful Iftar Get-Together at the Africa Federation (AFED) Tower in Dar es Salaam. The event was attended by members of the BMMT Board and Staff, as well as notable guests from the Africa Federation and beyond.


The gathering was graced by the presence of Alhaj Aunali Khalfan - AFED Vice Chairman, who led the AFED delegation. Other distinguished attendees included Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi - AFED Trustee, Alhaj Muslim Ramazanali Meghji - BMMT Immediate Past Chairman, Mrs. Siddika Karim – Administrator, Bilal Comprehensive School (BCS), and Alhaj Haji Sahib - Founder, WIPAHS. Also present were Sheikh Siblin, Sheikh Msabaha Mapinda - Former Head of Tabligh, BMMT, and members of the Hawzatu Ahlul-Bayt, led by Sheikh Muhammad Yusuph (Mudir), and the Hawzatu Sayyida Maasoumah, led by Sheikhat Haitham Tajiri (Mudira).


The program commenced with a recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Br. Ali Haidary Abdul-Wahid Mohammed, followed by an opening address from the Master of Ceremonies, Sheikh Hussein Zuberi - Tabligh Coordinator. Alhaj Azizhussein Rajani - Chairman, BMMT Coast & South Zone provided the welcome remarks and introduced the distinguished guests, while Br. Hasan Ahmed - Administrative Manager introduced the BMMT Headquarters staff members.



Alhaj Aunali Khalfan addressed the gathering, expressing his delight in seeing BMMT continue the tradition of hosting Iftar get-togethers. He emphasized the importance of such gatherings in fostering dialogue and collaboration to advance the mission. On behalf of AFED, he pledged continued support to BMMT and its branches.


In his closing remarks, Alhaj Abdulwahid Mohamed - BMMT Vice Chairman thanked all those in attendance and urged BMMT staff members to remain dedicated in their service to Imam Mahdi (ATFS). The event concluded with the recitation of the closing Dua and Dua al-Hujjah (ATFS) led by Sheikh Muhammad Yusuph.

The Africa Sports Festival 2025, organized by the Association of Khoja Shia Ithna Asheri de Madagascar (AKSIAM) is all set to begin on 17th April 2025 in Antananarivo, Madagascar. 


The Sports Festival has registered promising participation from La Réunion, Mayotte, Mauritius, Comoros, France, Dubai (UAE), Tanzania, and Madagascar for various sporting events such as: 


  • Padel ball

  • Tennis

  • Table tennis

  • Futsal

  • Volleball

  • Pétanque


A 22-players strong contingent from Dar-es-Salaam, coordinated by Br. Minhaal Dewji from the Dar-es-Salaam Jamaat and being led by Br. Shaheed Rizwan Rattansi, will be participating at the Sports Festival. Chairman of the Africa Federation Sports Council, Alhaj Fazal bhai Kassam will also be accompanying the contingent to Madagascar.


It is indeed a matter of pride for our community that these Sportsmen will be our ambassadors in promoting brotherhood and unity at this exciting Sports Festival having diverse participation. Winning or losing is part and parcel of the game, it is participation that predominantly matters.



On behalf of Africa Federation Chairman, Alhaj Amine bhai Nassor, we extend our heartfelt gratitude and sense of pride to all the players from participating countries and wish them all successful participation and safe travels.

The Education Board of the Africa Federation has long been at the forefront of supporting students within our community who aspire to pursue higher education. In collaboration with esteemed donor partners such as the Jaffer Family Foundation of New York, USA, Lady Fatemah Charitable Trust (UK), and The Mainstay Foundation (UK), the Education Board facilitates scholarships and loans to ensure that financial constraints do not hinder academic aspirations.


Furthermore, the Khoja Shia Ithnasheri Jamaat of Moshi has generously extended its support by offering accommodation facilities to students pursuing studies at KCMC, providing a safe and supportive environment.


The Education Board, in collaboration with the Moshi Jamaat, encourages community students to explore careers in medicine and allied health sciences at KCMC, Moshi.
