The Africa Federation Tabligh Board (AFTAB), in collaboration with the World Federation Islamic Education (WF IE), has donated 50 copies of the updated Islamic Laws of Al Sayyid Ali Al Hussain Sistani books to Husayni Madrasah of KSIJ Dar es Salaam. This initiative comes in response to a request from the Madrasah, reaffirming AFTAB’s commitment to supporting Islamic education in our Jamaats. 


Additionally, AFTAB extended its support to Yaadgare Murtazawi Madrassah of Arusha Jamaat by providing: 


  • 10 copies of the updated Islamic Laws of Al Sayyid Ali Al Hussain Sistani

  • 6 copies of Tafsir of the 30th Juz of the Holy Qur'an

  • A selection of other WF IE publications (2 copies each) for reference purposes


These contributions play a vital role in ensuring that students and teachers have access to essential jurisprudential literature and Qur’anic knowledge, strengthening their understanding and application of Islamic teachings.


Husayni Madrasah and Yaadgare Murtazawi Madrassah have expressed their sincere gratitude for this generous support, recognizing the importance of such resources in nurturing the upcoming generation.


AFTAB remains dedicated to empowering Madaris by facilitating access to essential Islamic literature and looks forward to continued collaboration in enhancing Tabligh efforts across the continent.

TABLIGH BOARD OF AFRICA FEDERATION (AFTAB)

The Central Bilal Board (CBB) has appointed Alhaj Gulamabbas Habib of Nairobi, an ex-Burundi resident as the Coordinator with Bilal Bujumbura Committee, he visited Bujumbura, from February 17th to February 25th, 2025. The visit involved discussions with Jamaat members on various subjects, including the current system of operations and administration of the Bilal Centres. The purpose of the formation of the new Bilal Committee, is primarily to plan for the expansion and enhancement of tabligh activities and educational programs across several centers.



The Bilal Committee of Bujumbura was officially formed; its members include; Alhaj Hurali Fazal (Chairman), Alhaj Irshad Mohammed Manji (Secretary), Alhaj Gulam Raza Shadik Ali (Treasurer), Alhaj Ahmed Hussain Agha (Committee member), Alhaj Zuher Jetha (Committee member), Alhaj Salim Somji (Committee member) and Naznin bai Jiwan Rajan (Committee member), the Committee will actively start their work to oversee and manage the ongoing works at the centres after the holy month of Ramadhan.


The Committee will provide regular updates on the various initiatives, initial focus will be on centers in Minago, Rukago, Kinama, and Bunyezi. Alhaj Zuher Jetha and Alhaj Salim Somji have kindly accepted to carry out the assessment and oversee operations at these centres.


An important highlight of the visit was the ongoing classes for ladies at the Kinama center, which currently serves 25 young girls and 30 women. These classes are currently overseen by Nazneen Bai Jiwan, there is a critical need for qualified teachers to enhance the quality of education. The suggestion has been made for the Central Bilal Board to send an Aalima to support the teaching of Fiqh Masael and assist in teachers’ training development.


A suggestion was also made for a Muallim/Sheikh to visit during the months of Muharram and Safar to conduct Tabligh work, recite Majalises, and teach at the centers. This will also provide an opportunity to assess the effectiveness of teaching and help the instructors improve their delivery.


The Bilal Committee also discussed various matters in connection with the qualifications and responsibilities of Muallims and Sheikhs and on methods of measuring performance of the centres and assistance to improve the standards of operations.


The Bilal Committee of Bujumbura expressed gratitude for the continued support from the Central Bilal Board (CBB) and assured to provide further updates on the centres and other tabligh activities.


Alhaj Gulamabbas Habib thanked the Jamaat officials and the Bilal Committee of Bujumbura for the warm welcome and hospitality.

By the grace and blessings of the Almighty Allah (s.w.t), the Capacity Building Board (CBG) in collaboration with the Africa Federation Women's Board, KSI Kampala Jamaat, and Fikrafya conducted an engaging and impactful session on mental wellbeing for the ladies' community members in Kampala on Sunday, 9th February 2025. The session provided a safe and supportive space to explore the vital connection between mental, emotional, and physical health, reinforcing the importance of prioritizing mental wellbeing in our daily lives.



Led by Br. Shabbirhussein Khalfan, this interactive session focused on equipping participants with the knowledge and skills to proactively manage their mental health. Engaging discussions and reflective exercises allowed attendees to explore ways to identify early indicators of stress and develop personalized strategies to maintain emotional balance. The session encouraged open dialogue, fostering a collective commitment to breaking the stigma surrounding mental health and ensuring that it remains a priority for all.



The discussions underscored the ongoing need for mental health awareness, empowering attendees with tools and techniques that can be seamlessly integrated into their daily routines. Participants left the session feeling more informed, supported, and motivated to champion mental wellbeing within their families and communities. The session also highlighted the benefits of self-awareness, stress management, and emotional resilience in fostering a healthier and more balanced lifestyle.


CBG extends its appreciation to all the ladies who attended and actively contributed to the session. We hope that the knowledge and skills gained will inspire participants to become advocates for mental wellbeing, ensuring that mental health remains a key priority for all.


We also acknowledge the Africa Federation Women's Board for their initiative and commitment to promoting holistic wellbeing, and KSI Kampala Jamaat for their support and collaboration in making this session a success. We look forward to continuing these important conversations and fostering a culture where mental health is valued and nurtured.
