AFTAB Online Madrasah Successfully Completes Its First Term

The Africa Federation Tabligh Board (AFTAB) is pleased to share the successful completion of the inaugural term of AFTAB Online Madrasah, an initiative designed to bring quality Islamic education to students in smaller Jamaats where conducting regular madrasah classes is often challenging due to limited student numbers or a shortage of qualified teachers. The first term ran from 11th April to 1st August 2026.

Our Students

The online initiative currently serves 14 students drawn from three Jamaats:

  • Nakuru:           Six students

  • Morogoro:        Four students

  • Moshi:             Four students

The student body comprises 7 girls and 7 boys, divided into two age groups:

  • Band C (Ages 9–10):   4 students

  • Band D (Ages 11+):   10 students

Our Teachers

The Madrasah is supported by a dedicated team of five teachers based in Arusha, Morogoro, Mombasa, Nairobi, and India. All teachers are qualified through the Teacher Skills Programme (TSP) and Curriculum Training (CT), ensuring students receive high-quality and engaging learning experiences.

Curriculum and Learning

Students follow the MCE Tarbiyyah Curriculum through interactive online sessions held every Saturday from 2:30 pm to 4:40 pm, with a short break in between. Lessons are further enriched through the MCE Digital Portal, which encourages participation and active learning.

The programme has successfully completed:

  • Module 1: The Creator and His Creation

  • Module 2: Divine Guidance

Students are currently studying:

  • Module 3: Rasulullah (AS)

  • Module 4: Aimmah (AS)

Bulugh Session

A special Bulugh Session was held on 25th July 2026 for students who have reached, or are approaching, the age of Bulugh. The session provided valuable guidance on the responsibilities and significance of this important stage in their Islamic journey.

Innovative Use of Technology

A key feature of the programme has been its innovative use of technology. With the generous technical support of Abbas Bhai from Australia, each student was provided with a tablet configured with restricted access exclusively to Tarbiyyah learning resources, allowing students to remain focused while ensuring a safe and productive online learning environment.

The success of AFTAB Online Madrasah demonstrates how collaboration, dedicated educators, and the thoughtful use of technology can bridge geographical distances, enabling children from smaller Jamaats to receive quality Islamic education rooted in the MCE Tarbiyyah curriculum.

Heartfelt Appreciation from Parents

As the first term concluded, parents expressed deep appreciation for the commitment and dedication shown by the teachers and organizers. One parent shared:

“There are some people whom Allah (SWT) places in our children’s lives to help shape not only their minds but also their hearts. Thank you for embracing our children with love, patience and wisdom, helping them build a strong relationship with Allah (SWT) and the Ahlul Bayt (AS). In a world full of distractions, your dedication to nurturing their faith and character is a priceless gift that we deeply cherish.”

Special appreciation is extended to Fehmida bai H. Fazal of Nakuru and the entire teaching team for their unwavering support, encouragement, and sincere efforts throughout the term. Another parent echoed these sentiments, expressing gratitude to every teacher involved and celebrating the successful completion of the first term of this newly established online madrasah.

May Allah (SWT) continue to bless the teachers, students, parents, and all those who have supported this initiative, granting them abundant barakah and success as AFTAB Online Madrasah continues to grow and inspire future generations. Ameen.
