The Khoja Shia Ithna Asheri community of Comoros, celebrated the auspicious occasion of the inauguration of Mehfile Zahra in Comoros Island, marking the first-ever Mehfil of the Comoros Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri Association. 


The Mehfil has been kindly donated by the family of Rajabali Alimamod of Antananarivo, Madagascar.   


The occasion was graced by the presence of Africa Federation (AFED) Chairman, Alhaj Amine Nassor, along with the President of the World Federation, Alhaj Safdar Jaffer and AFED Nominated Councillor, Alhaj Navazaly Molou. The dignitaries included members of the family of Rajabali Alimamod.

The inaugural ceremony which was held on 21st December 2024 coinciding with the eve of the blessed Wiladat of Sayyedahh Fatima Zahra (SA), was a significant milestone for the community, reflecting their dedication to spiritual and communal growth. The event was also graced by the presence of the community members of Comoros. 


In his address, the AFED Chairman Amine Nassor congratulated the Comoros Khoja Association Chairman Alhaj Zahir Mamod Nassir Houssen and his office bearers for their commendable efforts in strengthening religious and community bonds through facilities for religious activities such as the one being inaugurated. He reiterated AFED’s commitment to supporting such initiatives that enhance the spiritual and social wellbeing of Khoja communities across Africa and in the Indian Ocean Islands. 


The occasion marks a new chapter for the Khoja community in Comoros, a landmark for the religious infrastructure and laying a strong foundation for the future generations.

The AFED Central Health Board (CHB) has successfully renewed its partnership with M/S Zamara Risk & Insurance Brokers Limited for the AFEDLife Insurance Scheme for the year 2025. This decision follows a successful year of implementation in 2024, during which M/S Zamara Risk & Insurance Brokers Limited provided valuable insurance services to CHB members across Africa.


After a rigorous tender process, M/S Zamara Risk & Insurance Brokers Limited emerged as the selected service provider for the scheme in 2023/2024, delivering on their commitments effectively. Their professionalism and commitment to excellence led to the CHB renewing their services for another year, ensuring continued insurance coverage for community members.


As a gesture of appreciation, the CHB presented a token of appreciation to M/S Zamara Risk & Insurance Brokers Limited and Ms. Leticia Amakobe, who has been the relationship manager for this account. The presentation was done by Mr. Gulamabbas Habib, a CHB Board Member, acknowledging their dedication and partnership in making AFEDLife a success.


The AFEDLife Insurance Scheme has been instrumental in providing financial security and insurance benefits to community members, ensuring that they have access to comprehensive coverage for unforeseen circumstances. This initiative aligns with CHB’s ongoing mission to enhance the wellbeing of community members through structured health and financial protection programs.
