In a heartfelt initiative to enhance access to home based medical care, the Central Health Board (CHB) of the Africa Federation has partnered with Shia-Ithna-Asheri Jamaat (SAAJ) Nairobi to provide oxygen concentrators for community use.

During a recent visit to Arusha, CHB Chairman Aliraza Bandali and his team met with Dr. Mazaher Jaffer, Chairman of SAAJ, who highlighted the need for oxygen support among patients recovering at home.Recognizing the urgency and impact of such support, CHB promptly responded by allocating two oxygen concentrators units to be stationed in Nairobi under the care of SAAJ’s medical team.

These units will be available free of charge to community members requiring short term oxygen therapy; typically, during recovery or post hospital discharge. Once the equipment is no longer needed, it will be returned and prepared for the next patient.

This partnership is part of CHB’s broader vision to strengthen home based healthcare, reduce avoidable hospital admissions, and promote compassionate, community driven health support.

“We are proud to support this noble cause,” said the CHB Chairman. “This is not just about equipment; it is about compassion, accessibility, and responding to real needs on the ground. We thank SAAJ Nairobi for their proactive approach and for being a model of community centered care.”

The CHB remains committed to working hand in hand with Jamaats across Africa to support health and wellbeing through timely, impactful interventions.

For any queries or to request the oxygen concentrator in Nairobi, community members are encouraged to contact SAAJ’s Medical Team directly.

Hajj - A Spiritual Journey and A Foundation of Unity Which provides a Unique Opportunity to Reflect, Contemplate upon and Purify Oneself

Of all the rites of Islam, Hajj is the greatest in manifestation of unity and the most vivid manifestation of belief in Tawheed and complete devotion towards Him. The pilgrimage therefore represents the essence and spirit of Islam.

Hajj eradicates inequality in mankind, ushers inner feeling of humbleness and prepares the mind for death, and most importantly strengthens the faith of a true believer in Allah (SWT)

"Allah has made obligatory upon you the pilgrimage, for it consolidates the faith." – Imam Ali (A”) - Nahj al-Balagha

HAJJ - A FOUNDATION OF UNITY

The Hajj pilgrimage enables Muslims from all around the world, of different colors, languages, races, and ethnicities, to come together in a spirit of universal brotherhood and sisterhood to worship the One God together.

During Hajj, Muslims witness the most excellent example of equality, submissiveness, and brotherhood. This is accomplished by removing the outer difference and donning the dress of unity - Ihram. The result is that all feel oneness among the human race, brotherhood and equality.

It is my humble request to the Community members to take lessons from this obligatory act of Hajj which includes sacrifice; closeness to Allah, setting ourselves free from personal vices.  In the spirit of the blessed Day of Arafah and Eid Al Adha, let each one of us make a pledge of forgetting the differences we have with one other and work towards stronger relations within our families; the community and the society at large.

We are a small community and it is vital that we are united to enable face the challenges that come our way and for us to progress and bring development within the Community.

“And obey Allah and His Messenger, and do not dispute and [thus] lose courage and [then] your strength would depart; and be patient. Indeed, Allah is with the patient” –

Surah Al-Anfal, verse 46:
