The KSI Jamaat of Antananarivo had the honour to once again host the AKSIAM Ordinary General Assembly on 18th and 19th April 2025 at KSIJ Imambargha in Antananarivo, Madagascar. Africa Federation Chairman Alhaj Amine Nassor, Vice Chairman Alhaj Aunali Khalfan, Chairman of AFED Economic Development Board Alhaj Murtaza Somji and AFED Sports Council Chairman, Alhaj Fazle Ali Kassam attended the General Assembly for the two days.

On Friday, 18th April 2025, the program was preceded with a dinner followed by an official opening of the General Assembly. Several dignitaries from different institutions and scholars (Ulemas) in Madagascar were invited during the opening ceremony, which commenced with recitation of the verses from the Holy Qur’an.


A welcome address was delivered by Antananarivo Jamaat General Secretary - the host Jamaat, Alhaj Razaly Nourmamod, welcoming the dignitaries, delegates and invitees. 


The Annual General Assembly brings together Presidents and Delegates from 13 Jamaats of Madagascar and the invitees. During this meeting, the AKSIAM Executive Committee and its various boards present their reports/accounts for discussion and adoption by the delegates from these Jamaats. The two days meeting also involves consultations and discussions between the Presidents of the Jamaats and AKSIAM Executive Management on Tabligh, developments etc. The first day Assembly mainly covered on the constitution of AKSIAM, the agenda opened up with deliberation and questions on the constitution, the Office Bearers and Alhaj Mourade Abdoulrassoul, an expert in constitutional matters provided clarifications on several items of the constitution. 


During the Assembly, the General Secretary, Alhaj Shaik Alimamod presented the Secretariat report for the term and the Treasurer, Alhaj Zahir Askaraly Dinmamod provided financial report of the year ending 2024 giving detailed account and analysis of the funds utilizations in various sectors of AKSIAM and Jamaats, this followed by questions from the floor. The entire session was managed proficiently by the General Secretary, the Chairman, Alhaj Feride Ismael, and the Vice Chairman Alhaj Yassine Pandjou. 


The Education, Health, Welfare, Tabligh, Construction Development, Musafirkhana Board’s Chairmen and Women’s Board Chairlady presented their reports and also answered questions from the delegates.

A moving speech was delivered by the AKSIAM Chairman, Alhaj Feride Ismael thanking the dignitaries for their attendance and being part of this important Extraordinary General Assembly. During his address, he expressed his deep concern on the ongoing difficult economic and geopolitical situation around the world. He prayed for peace, safety and tranquility for all the people worldwide and for the people of Madagascar.  


While addressing the assembly, Africa Federation Chairman, Alhaj Amine bhai Nassor emphasized the importance of unity and building bridges with other communities and faiths. He also spoke about the importance of developing youth, providing them with skills training, talent management and leadership development programs, and the role of women in the community. He also discussed the importance of women's participation in the community and the role they play in the development and social services. 


Alhaj Amine Nassor also spoke about the changing economic and political environment globally which also affects the region hence the community must gear itself to face these challenges, he emphasized on education for all our children, he pointed out that students should not stop upon completion of secondary education but must pursue higher education and degree courses for betterment of their careers and their future. He applauded AKSIAM for taking a bold decision to initiate the school project in Antananarivo, the foundation stone laying which took place on Sunday, AFED pledged financial support for the school project. He also reminded the gathering on the importance of Marjai’yyat and Aqidah which are the strong pillars of our community.

AKSIAM remembered the two Marhumeen who passed away recently for their services to the community, namely Alhaj Richad Abdirassoul, General Secretary of Antsohihy Jamaat and Alhaj Mohamedraza Ismael Jina, Vice President of UAKSIR.

Our sincere appreciation to the Host Jamaat – KSI Jamaat of Tananarive President, Alhaj Arzou Alibay, Managing Committee Members and Volunteers for being wonderful host throughout the period of the stay in Antananarivo. There were many individuals who were so kind and hospitable throughout the stay in Antananarivo, we say Thank You to them all.


Our gratitude to the AFED Nominated Councillors, Alhaj Navazaly Molou and Alhaj Achikhoussen Nassor for their support throughout the visit.


May Allah (SWT) reward them all with good health, long life, happiness and prosperity – Ameen.


We pray to Allah (SWT) by His infinite grace and mercy to grant maghferat to all the past leaders, volunteers and social workers who are no longer with us in the world, let us recite Sura-e-Fateha for the maghferat of the departed souls.

The Easter weekend of 2025 witnessed a spectacular celebration of athleticism, unity, and community spirit as the Africa Sports Festival 2025 lit up Antananarivo, Madagascar with energy and passion. Organized by The Association Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri of Madagascar (AKSIAM), the highly anticipated event brought together 486 participants from 15 Jamaats across Africa, the Middle East, and Europe, creating a vibrant platform for international sportsmanship.


Over the course of the weekend, athletes competed in six exciting sports, with one of the festival’s standout moments being the introduction of pétanque - a French-born precision game that captivated both seasoned competitors and curious spectators. The new addition met with enthusiasm, quickly becoming a crowd favorite and highlighting the festival’s commitment to innovation in sport.

Futsal Glory for Tanzania

Flying the flag for Tanzania, KSIJ Dar es Salaam fielded a formidable squad of 22 players, making their mark in style. With skill, grit, and teamwork, the team powered through the competition to claim the championship title in the Futsal tournament, cementing their status as a regional dazzling in the fast-paced indoor game.

Behind the Scenes: A Team Effort

The festival’s seamless execution was a result of months of meticulous planning and tireless dedication from the organizing committee of AKSIAM. The coordination, hospitality, and structure of the event were universally praised by participants and spectators alike. 


Special recognition is owed to the leadership of the Africa Federation, including:
