On Monday 19th May 2025, the Chairman of Africa Federation Alhaj Amine Nassor, Assistant Hon Secretary, Mohamedamir Hamza, AFED Trustees Alhaj Shabir Najafi and Alhaj Mehboob Versi, KSI Dar Jamaat Managing Committee Member Alhaj Noorulain Shariff, AFED Councillors and Delegates who were accompanied by the Chairman of Housing Board Alhaj Akil Hirji, Vice Chairperson Shakira bai Dhanani, Legal Advisor Zakiya bai Khamisa and Supervisor Br. Irfanhaider Mahershah visited the project Madina residency in Dar es Salaam. The AFED’s Finance Department staff, Alhaj Mubashir Jaffer, Alhaj Zaheerabbas Hemani, Alhaj Hasnain Rattansi and Br. Shazirabbas Kermali, the Chief Operations Officer, Br. Mohamedkazim Sheriff and the Contractor were also part of the delegation that made the visit.

The visit preceded with the recitation of Holy Quran by Br. Hasnain Rattansi. 


Members of the Allocation Committee, Br. Shahid Murji and Mrs. Shakira Dhanani briefed the members on the challenges faced by them during the allocation of the apartments. AFED Chairman Amine bhai Nassor briefed members in regards to the planning of housing that is underway to give priority for newly wedded couples, low-income members and families with various challenges. 


Alhaj Amine Nassor and Alhaj Shabir Najafi mentioned that are still needs in our community for more housing projects so as all the members are accommodated.


The Housing Board Chairman Alhaj Akil Hirji appreciated the contractor, M/s. Super Construction Ltd, the consultants for their support in managing the project in a timely manner and for the regular meetings at the site. Akil bhai further appreciated the Councillors for their unwavering support towards AFED’s housing projects and prayed for their continued zeal towards the Board.

Alhamdulillah the seventeen (17) storey building project located on Mindu street, Upanga, Dar es salaam, is progressing well and shaping its way up. 


The parking floors; basement, ground, first and second floor have been completed, the aim has now shifted to apartments floors. Currently the fifth-floor slab is being prepared with formwork completed 95%. 


The Slab is expected to be casted first week of June 2025. A technical meeting was held with the neighbours for reconstructing the boundary wall which was demolished for safety reason.


We wish to record our sincere appreciation to our neighbours for their cooperation despite the inconvenience caused during the process of this ongoing construction works.

In the recent site meeting held on 22nd April 2025, the team discussed on the apartments layouts and MEP services planning for smooth construction progress. It is collective efforts of the entire team to achieve short term and long-term targets set via a site meeting.

In line with the project plan the progress is satisfactory and we pray for the early completion of the project.

AFED Housing Board

The Africa Federation Central Health Board (CHB) in demonstrating its strong commitment to healthcare development donated five (5) oxygen concentrators to the Ocean Road Cancer Institute (ORCI) on Tuesday 15th April 2025. 


The handover Ceremony was held at the hospital premises and led by Br. Mohamedkazim Sheriff, Chief Operating Officer of the Africa Federation along with Br. Akhtar Khakoo and Sr. Tayyaba Ahmed, Administrative Secretary of the Central Health Board. The machines were received on behalf of ORCI by Sr. Mary Haule, the Head of Nursing.

During the handover, Akhtar bhai Khakoo explained the use and benefit of the concentrators to the ORCI team, he also mentioned that these devices are designed to be both efficient and user-friendly, especially in busy hospital settings.


Sister Mary Haule, Head of Nursing, expressed heartfelt appreciation to Africa Federation and shared how this donation will make a real difference, she said:


“We see many patients daily who require constant oxygen support. This donation will help save lives and having access to a reliable, advanced system is a blessing.”

Dr. Diwani Msemo, Chief Executive Officer of ORCI, expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the generous donation. He noted that the hospital has, at times, faced challenges when the demand for oxygen cylinders exceeds availability, causing delays in providing care to patients in need, he commented: 


“We are truly honoured to receive these advanced oxygen concentrators,” he said. “They will help ease the pressure on our existing resources and ensure that more patients can receive oxygen support without unnecessary delays. This will make a meaningful difference in our day-to-day operations and, most importantly, in the lives of our patients.”


At the conclusion of the handover, a thank you letter was presented to Br. Mohamedkazim Sheriff, COO of Africa Federation as a token of appreciation from the ORCI management for the kind and impactful contribution.


This donation is part of CHB’s ongoing mission to enhance community healthcare, build capacity in public institutions, and work hand-in-hand with medical professionals to improve lives.


The Central Health Board remains committed to building bridges of support, ensuring that access to essential health resources is not a privilege, but a right for all.
