The Africa Federation Chairman Alhaj Amine bhai Nassor is pleased to announce the appointment of Br. Mazahir Dewji as the Chairman of the AFED Economic Development Board for the term 2025 – 2028.
Mazahir has assembled his team consisting of members with a vision and passion of bringing about an economical change within the Community.

Mazahir Dewji – Chairman - Dar-es-Salaam is a visionary leader, entrepreneur, and community enthusiast, committed to driving economic growth, innovation, and social impact. He currently serves as Strategic Partner and CEO at Chem and Co. Ltd, a company specializing in importing chemicals for mining plants, where he leverages his technical and business expertise to drive growth, innovation and strategic insight to deliver measurable business outcomes.
In addition to his corporate leadership, Mazahir provides consultation services to businesses and organizations, helping them enhance sales, marketing impact, and brand visibility through strategic guidance in media, advertising, and communications.
Mazahir’s dedication to community service spans over a decade. He served the Africa Federation across three boards in the previous term 2022 - 2025: as Vice Chairman of the Economic Board, member of the Media/Editorial Board and member of the Sports Council. He has volunteered extensively within the Dar es Salaam Jamaat, currently engages with JIBA Tanzania, and is a member of the Lions Club International.
Globally, Mazahir leads Media and Communications for the Who Is Hussain Dar es Salaam chapter and has contributed to the Dar Ahlulbayt Society (DABSOC) under the Global ABSOC Network.
Mazahir’s professional and volunteer endeavors reflect his dedication to service, innovation, and the empowerment of others through technology, strategy, and media. As Chairman of the Economic Board, Mazahir brings a strategic vision, innovative mindset, and commitment to inclusive development, aiming to empower, strengthen economic initiatives, and drive transformative projects that create lasting value.
Zahra Bandali-Jacksi – Vice Chairperson – Dar-es-Salaam has 14+ years’ experience as a Personal Assistant, supporting senior management, HR, and Legal functions. She has been actively involved in community service since 2010.
She was an active member of the Umoja Ladies Sports Festival, is an CBG Alumni and an Executive Member of JIBA Tanzania. She has been the Lead / Assistant Lead for the JBEX – JIBA Business Expo, JIBA Home Business Expo and JIBA Ramadan Souk held in Dar-es-Salaam.
She brings strong organizational skills, event leadership experience, and has a people-centred approach; which will assist in her role as the Vice Chairperson of the Board.
Mehtab Ladak – Member – Mombasa works with a global network of audit, tax, and consulting professionals. Her work places her within a dynamic team that supports clients across the region, giving her exposure to diverse business environments.
She has developed strong competencies in financial advisory and Kenyan tax regulations, providing guidance to both individual and corporate clients. Her academic background includes a degree in Accounting & Finance and she is presently advancing her professional qualifications.
Mehtab has been re-appointed to the board and is eager to contribute to the Board. She hopes to continue leverage her expertise to uplift and empower young individuals within the community. She is passionate about equipping youth with the knowledge and tools to make informed, sustainable economic decisions that foster independence and opportunity.
Nusrat Fatema Virani - Member - Kampala, has spent her life across Africa, growing up in Lusaka, completing her Business Diploma (ABE) in Dar es Salaam, and now making her home in Kampala. She began her career working in Interior Furnishings, where she spent seven years in sales before venturing into the telecom and messaging space. Over the past six years, Nusrat has worked with both regional and international telecom companies.
Beyond her professional path, Nusrat is driven by the meaning of her name "help." She is passionate about supporting people, getting things done, and creating a positive impact wherever she can. She has volunteered with Who is Hussain Uganda, contributing to their blood drive initiatives and food distribution during Ramadan.
A dedicated lifelong learner, Nusrat enjoys spending time in libraries, nurturing her love for books and expanding her knowledge across different fields. She has also assisted several SMEs in building their market identity and reaching their desired turnover, reflecting her commitment to empowering others and fostering growth within her community.
Ali Abbas Panju – Member – Lilongwe is a Canadian entrepreneur living in Malawi, working across the healthcare and retail sectors. He is known for his practical approach to business, focusing on improving systems, increasing access to essential services, and building reliable, people-centered operations. Passionate about growth and community impact, Ali believes in leading by example and creating opportunities through consistency, discipline, and vision.
Ammar Canani – Member – Nampula holds a Masters degree in Information Systems from the University of Cape Town. He is the founder of One Click Solutions, where he focuses on automating boring and repetitive tasks for businesses by creating smart tools that speed up everyday operations. In addition to automation solutions, his company also develops ERP and POS systems that help businesses work in a smarter, more organized and efficient manner. His passion for technology and problem-solving has shaped his work and strengthened his understanding of real-world economic and operational needs.
Alongside his entrepreneurial journey, he serves at the University of Cape Town as a mentor, teacher, consultant, and technical advisor. Through these roles, he guides students, supports innovation, and contributes to building the next generation of thinkers and professionals.
During his university life, he was actively involved in various societies and sports clubs. His technical expertise, community spirit, and leadership experience along with his services as a volunteer within Nampula Jamaat reflects his commitment to serve and give back to the community. He hopes to contribute meaningfully to the Organization’s growth and future initiatives.
