THE JAMAAT

About The Jamaat
The Arusha KSI Jamaat is a vibrant community with a legacy of resilience and faith that dates back to the early 1900s. What began as a small group of pioneer families; such as the Damanis, Sajans, and Ebrahims; has grown into a flourishing center for spiritual and social life at the foot of Mount Meru.
Our community is built on a foundation of service and unity. Today, we manage a comprehensive complex that serves the diverse needs of our members and the wider Arusha area:
-
Spiritual Hub: Our beautiful Mosque and Imambargha, established through the generosity of families like the Ramjis and Pirbhais, serve as the heart of our daily prayers and religious commemorations.
-
Education: We are committed to nurturing the next generation through a dedicated Madressah, providing robust Qur'anic and religious education.
-
Hospitality: Reflecting Arusha's status as a welcoming destination, we maintain a Musafarkhana (guest house) to accommodate travelers and visitors.
-
Community Care: We oversee essential services, including a dedicated cemetery established via the Waqf (charitable endowment) of early settlers like Mohamedbhai Damani.
As a proud member of the Africa Federation, the Arusha Jamaat continues to honor the pioneering spirit of our founders while evolving to meet the modern needs of our growing community.
