An error
doesnt become a mistake until you refuse to correct it
Some people like
believing that there is no happiness in the world. They live in gloom and try to make
others gloomy by making it appear that living is burdensome and difficult unlike the years
or generations gone by. Every generation brings along a different standard of living but
the weaker ones easily translate their minor problems or ailments from a molehill into a
mountain.
Instead of being
thankful for the many positive things God has bestowed human beings such individuals tend
to blow up minor discomforts in life. In
Take a look at the type
of people among us: People born with defected bodies, deformed faces, no hands, no legs,
just heads and stomach, walking on the stomach and disabled beyond our comprehension.
These people too have families who have to see them everyday and be there for them
everyday. Yet so many of them face life positively and some are even constructively
self-employed.
The list of those
suffering is endless and includes:
The clinically
depressed;
People with alcohol,
drug or sex addiction;
Anti-law, anti-society, anti-working and anti-living people;
Those with fathers and mothers who live honourable and respectable lives but dont
get the required attention;
People in hospitals for years or at repeated intervals;
People who live without any outings (health or money problems), people who have no
friends, none at all;
People who have no regular meals;
People who have just a few clothes to wash and wear;
Penniless widows;
People who've lost their sweethearts too early and don't know how to deal;
Children in orphanages;
Parents whose children have passed away;
The young forced into prostitution;
Mothers cooking, washing, sleeping in a hut and watching on helplessly as life goes by for
others;
People hurting miserably and hoping against hope;
People wondering what's taking God so long;
People who've lost friends and families without a goodbye or last look, just gone with so
much left unsaid, unshared;
Wives who have turned against husbands;
Husbands who have cheated continuously on wives;
Children who rob their parents;
Brothers fighting with brothers over business or sisters at war;
Wrecked family lives;
People who live with memories, nothing but memories;
People who feel abandoned by God;
People who know they are doing wrong and still do wrong;
People who have fallen from their own eyes;
People who had it all once, now with nothing;
People who've never had it;
People who love somebody who love somebody else;
People cheated out of their homes or without homes;
Those sexually abused at home;
The elderly ill-treated and traumatised by their children;
Think about it. Without
the above disadvantages you have so much. So much that you can easily give something to
someone else to share your normal, happy, peaceful life with. Help another be happy. Big
way, small way, anyway, but definitely in some way; because by doing this you will be
yoking yourself to the yonder and expressing your gratitude to God by showing your
solidarity towards the rest of our world.
You're better off by
far and is it then not a crime against the bounties of blessings when we only live
selfishly. Is it not immature, infantile when one can't use life for bettering it? Is it
not odd that people graze on the meadows of mediocrity endlessly and are stuck on the same
pattern of life for years? I would hate myself to be this year what I was last year or the
year before; life is fuel, almost everyday one should be impatient to step on the gas.
Books, growing ones
business, meeting and helping people, sharing experiences with others, community service,
raising ones spirituality through praying every day all serve to inch one towards
enrichment. We are meant to grow, to live, to expand the muscle of the heart; those who
don't have the above disadvantages are expected to take advantage and pump iron into the
soul of life.
If you have any of the
disadvantages, remember that struggle is the objective of life and success or failure is
in the hands of God. If your disadvantage is through your own error, remember that an
error does not become a mistake until you refuse to correct it.
