INNA LILLAHI WA INNA ILAYHI RAJEEUN

It is with deep sorrow and grief that the Africa Federation received the sad news of the passing away of Alhaj Hussein Rashid in Nairobi on Wednesday 14th January 2015.
 
Marhum Hussein Bhai served as the Hon. Secretary of the Africa Federation for one year (2001-2002) under the Chairmanship of Marhum Zulfikar Khimji, he also served as the Chairman of the Education Board from 1995 to 1998 and was a nominated Councilor of the Africa Federation for the term 2010 – 2013.
 
Marhum was a passionate and keen social worker with great interest in Education; he contributed immensely towards the development of the education field within the Community.  He was the Vice Chairman of Nairobi Jamaat Jaffery Academy until the time of his death.
 
Marhum is survived by his wife and three sons.
 
Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi, Chairman of the Africa Federation in his message of condolence to the family wrote: –
 
“Hussein bhai was a dedicated and kind hearted social worker who always had the Community’s welfare at heart.  He served in the various positions in the Community with zeal and devotion and his death has left a big vacuum which will be difficult to fill.
 
On behalf of my colleagues and myself, I am writing this letter to express our deep sympathies to you, and all the members of the family on this bereavement, which has fallen upon you”. 
 
We pray to Allah (SWT) to grant Marhum maghferat and rest his soul amongst the infallibles - Charharda Masumeen (A.S.) and grant his family solace to bear this great loss.
 
Please let us remember Marhum in our prayers and let us recite Sura-e-Fateha to bless his soul.

The Federation of Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri Jamaats of Africa strongly condemns the criminal and cowardly attack committed by the Taliban terrorists group killing innocent students and teachers at the Army Public school in Peshawar, in north-west Pakistan on Tuesday, 16th December, 2014.
 
We join the World Federation and other communities worldwide in condemning this heinous and gruesome violence resulting in the massacre of 142, mostly children and injuring over 100 people in the attack.
 
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the parents and to all those who lost their loved ones in this terrible tragedy.

CIRCULAR NO:  JMT/103/14                                                               



The Africa Federation Chairman, Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi, with the Vice Chairman, Alhaj Shabir Najafi and the Hon. Secretary, Alhaj Aunali Khalfan will be visiting Mombasa Jamaat from Thursday, 13th to Saturday, 15th November, 2014 (Muharram 19th to 21st Muharram, 1436 AH).
 
The AFED delegation will include the Central Bilal Board (CBB) Chairman, Alhaj Mohsin Lalji, the Chairman of AFTAB, Seyed Hassan Naqvi, Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania Head of Tabligh, Seyed Arif Naqvi and Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania CEO, Alhaj Amir Ahmed.
 
The delegation will be joined by the AFED Kenyan Trustee, Alhaj Sultan Molu and the AFED Nominated Councillors from Mombasa, Alhaj Amir Merali and Alhaj Gulamabbas Khaku.
 
The visit has been planned on purpose to coincide with the Ashra-e-Muharram program so that the delegation can join members of the community in the Azadari-e-Seyyudsh Shohadah Aba Abdillahil Hussain (A.S.) and the martyrs of Karbala.
 
The AFED officials will meet the Jamaat Managing Committee, Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya Managing Committee & Trustees and members of the community to discuss various pertinent issues affecting our community at large, and the current developments in our region.
 
There will also be a visit to the Jaffery Complex – the site of the Mombasa Jamaat ongoing project and the Jaffery Medical Centre.

We are pleased to inform Community members that the First Phase of the AFED Commercial Complex at Nyerere Road, Dar-es-Salaam is in its final stages of completion and the twenty (20) modern high standard Warehouses, suitably located in the city of Dar es Salaam will be available for renting out effective 1st January 2015.
 
Interested Community members from our Jamaats in Africa who wish to rent the above Warehouses should contact one of the following for a visit to the premise, before making a firm offer:

Details of the Warehouses:

  • 20 Warehouses, each is 570 sq m.
  • 10 Warehouses on the Ground Floor
  • 10 Warehouses on the Mezzanine
  • An office, washroom, kitchenette and separate electrical Luku Meter for each Warehouse.

Availability:

From 1st January 2015 

Lease Period:

Two years onwards. 

Mode of Application:

Interested community members should send their offers in writing in a sealed envelope indicating the number of the Warehouses required, the rent amount in US Dollars being offered for the Warehouse/s. Offers shall be taken on the basis of nett  exclusive of VAT and Service Charges, these will be added on.

The Africa Federation Chairman, Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi accompanied by the Hon. Secretary, Alhaj Aunali Khalfan will be visiting the following Jamaats:
 
 Moshi Jamaat         – Sunday 26th October 2014
 Arusha Jamaat       – Monday 27th October 2014
Tanga Jamaat          – Tuesday 28th October 2014
 
The visit has been planned to coincide with the Ashra-e-Muharram program so that the AFED Office Bearers can join members of these Jamaats in the Azadari-e-Imam Hussain (A.S.) and in commemoration of the Martyrs of Karbala.
 
The AFED officials will also meet with the Jamaat Managing Committee Members, Trustees and Members of the community to discuss various pertinent issues affecting the community, and the latest developments in the region.
 
During the visit, they will also meet with the Chairman and Committee Members of Bilal Muslim Mission Branches in Moshi, Arusha and Tanga, and will visit the Bilal Centres in these places.

The Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) said: Surely, there exists in the hearts of the Mu' mineen, with respect to the martyrdom of Husain (A.S.), a heat that never subsides.  - (Mustadrak al-Wasail, vol. 10, pg. 318)

Muharram brings us yet another opportunity to reflect, contemplate and develop a source of inspiration towards transformation in our day to day life, taking lessons of the great mission of Imam Hussain (A.S.), and from his supreme sacrifice in the plains of Karbala, Iraq in 61 A.H.
 
Alhamdulillah, by the grace and blessings of Allah (SWT) the Zakirs and Zakiras postings to various destinations within our Jamaats in Africa for the month of Muharram 1436 A.H. have been successfully completed.
 
The Africa Federation Tabligh Board (AFTAB) thanks all the A'alims, Zakirs and Zakiras who kindly accepted the postings and travelled to various Jamaats to convey the message of Seyyid-ul Shohadah Abdillahi Hussain (A.S.) and keep alive the spirit of Azadari of Imam Hussein (A.S.) and the martyrs of Kerbala.
 
The Secretariat also wishes to express its gratitude to all Jamaats of the Africa Federation, Tabligh Boards of the Jamaats and individuals who in one way or the other assisted us in facilitating to carry out these arrangements successfully.
