The Day of Eid ul-Fitr marks the end of the holy month of Ramadhan.
 
It’s a day we bid farewell to the beautiful days and fragrant nights of the holy month of Ramadhan.
 
It is a day to offer our thanks to Allah (SWT) for His grace and mercy, and it is a day when Allah (SWT) by His infinite grace and mercy rewards  us all for good deeds.
 
Eid ul-Fitr is a time to celebrate with family and friends the completion of a blessed month whilst making it an equally blessed festive and joyful occasion for all - A day of forgiveness, fellowship and unity, a time of giving and sharing with others.
 
Pinning the Federation Flag on this day signifies Unity, Fellowship and Commitment to our common goals for the betterment of our Community.
 
The Secretariat will be sending to all our Jamaats the self adhesive Flags to offer to our members of the Community on the Day of Eid ul-Fitr.
 
The proceeds derives from the Flag Day, large or small are symbolic yet exhibit our resolve in the cause of uplifting the divine values of our faith and building stronger unity of our organization.
 
The collections from the proceeds of the Flag Day this year will go towards the Iraq Relief Fund to assist the displaced people of Iraq suffering from sectarian conflicts and violence.

The Africa Federation Chairman, Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi is pleased to appoint Br. Alihassan Fazleali Kassam of Dar es Salaam as the new Honorary Assistant Secretary for the term ending April 2016. He is replacing Br. Kumail Mohamed Manji who has taken up the position of Secretary General of the World Federation of KSI Muslim Communities. The appointment of Br. Alihassan is with immediate effect.
 
A brief Profile of Br. Alihassan:
 
Born on 23rd February, 1995 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, Alihassan pursued his Secondary Education at Shaaban Robert Secondary School in Dar es Salaam where he completed in 2011. He enrolled in the University of Dar es Salaam in the year 2013 for a Certificate in Law course, and currently pursuing a Degree in Law.

The World Federation Islamic Education Team has republished the Islamic Laws Book in English according to the Fatwas of His Eminence al-Sayyid Ali al-Husayni al-Sistani with a new annotated translation by Sheikh Mohammed Ali Ismail.
 
The Africa Federation Secretariat has received a consignment of these Books which are available at a cost of US $5 per copy.
 
It is recommended that every household of our Community members should have a copy of this important Book.
 
Member Jamaats in Africa are requested to notify the Secretariat the number of copies they require for their Jamaats and arrangements will be made to send them the same.
 
We request all Jamaats to publicize this during the holy month of Ramadhan and make available to the community members.

CIRCULAR NO: JMT/147/15                                                                   

INNA LILLAHI WA INNA ILAYHI RAJEEUN  (Holy Qur'an, Surah Al Baqarah, 2:156)

We have received with deep sorrow and grief the sad news of the passing away of the Chief Mufti of Tanzania, Alhaj Sheikh Issa Shabani Simba on Monday 15th June 2015 in Dar-es-Salaam and will be buried today Tuesday 16th June 2015 in Shinyanga after Asr Prayers.

Alhaj Sibtain Meghjee, Sheikh Hashim Ramadhan and Seyed Ameer Abbas Baqri will attend the Funeral in Shinyanga and represent the Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania.
 
A delegation from the BMM Tanzania head office comprising of various Sheikhs will attend the special prayers for the soul of Sheikh Simba to be held this morning at the National Muslim Council, Bakwata headquarters in Dar es Salaam.
 
Community members are requested to pay their last respects to the deceased in Dar es Salaam. Also, community members are requested to attend Khitma sessions that will be organised within their regions and various Mosques.
 
The passing away of Chief Mufti of Tanzania is a big loss not only to his dear and near ones but to the entire Muslim Community in Tanzania and, sadly, his wise counsel will be missed by many.
 
We pray to Allah (SWT) to grant Marhum maghferat and rest his soul in eternal peace, and may He by His infinite mercy grant his family members solace and strength to bear this great loss.
 
Please let us remember Marhum in our prayers and recite Sura-e-Fateha to bless his soul.

CHANGE OF TIMINGS OF THE AFED SECRETARIAT OFFICE DURING THE HOLY MONTH OF RAMADHAN

We wish to inform our Jamaats and community members that the office timings of the AFED Secretariat in Dar es Salaam during the holy month of Ramadhan will be as follows:
 
Monday to Friday:         From: 08.30 AM to 03.30 PM
                                   
Saturday:                     From: 08.30 AM to 12.30 PM
 
We shall revert to the normal office working hours after the holy month of Ramadhan, which is as under:
 
Monday to Friday:         From: 08.30 AM to 01.00 PM
                                    From: 02.00 PM to 05.00 PM
 
Saturday:                     From: 08.30 AM to 12.30 PM
 
Wishing you all Mahe Ramadhan Mubarak.
