Job Title: Accounting Officer
Job Description: The Accounting Officer is responsible for all areas relating to accounting functions. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements, tax returns and other relevant reports required by the Institution (Employer).
This position addresses deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, fixed asset register, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation, compliance to the regulatory requirements and the support of management reporting required by the Institution.
The Accounting Officer will have direct contact with the Institution’s internal and external stakeholders which require high level of motivation, commitment and professionalism.
Qualification: Certification from a reputable Institution
Skills and Behaviors Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a reputable organization/company.
  • Good knowledge of the accounting software package – “Quick Books”
  • Fully computer literate including MS Excel and MS Word
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal skills - ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proactive and self-motivated
  • Understands the concepts of philanthropy
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Committed to the overall vision and mission of Africa Federation

Salary: Good package shall be offered to the right candidate based on his/her qualification and experience.

This year again, the AFED Youth Network (AYN), Conseil Regional of Madagascar (CROI), Associations of Reunion (UAKSIR) and the Constituent Jamaats in mainland Africa joined hands with great enthusiasm and dedication towards the AFED Solidarity Day Fund Raising Project.

CIRCULAR No: JMT/156/15                                                       

The Africa Federation Youth Network (AYN) in collaboration with the Education Board (EBS) the Tabligh Board (AFTAB) and the Youth Affairs of Dar es Salaam Jamaat is organizing A Student Orientation Program  for prospective students from our Member Jamaats proceeding for Higher Education in the year 2015. Students currently doing their “O” and “A” Levels can also attend this Program.
This program is aimed at providing students with spiritual, social and educational aspects of Tertiary/Higher Education. The program will be conducted by experts in their specialized fields and will be facilitated by the Capacity Building Group (CBG) of the Africa Federation.

The Africa Federation Secretariat this year once again called upon the children between the ages from 6 to 12 years to design Eid ul-Fitr Greetings Cards.
Two Hundred Eleven (211) entries were received at the Secretariat Office; they were from Arusha, Dar-es-Salaam, Madagascar, Mombasa, Moshi, Mwanza, Nairobi, Re-Union and Tanga Jamaats.
The Secretariat is impressed with the overwhelming responses received and the efforts and enthusiasm shown by these children.
