MOON FORECAST – RAJAB 1440 A.H.

The forecast for the Crescent of 1st Rajab 1440 A.H. is as follows: - (Please note that the forecast is based for Dar-es-Salaam and all timings are D’Salaam local time, other towns in the West should make necessary adjustments depending upon the time of sunset).
 
The birth of the Astronomical New Moon is at 07.05 p.m. on Wednesday 6th March 2019 i.e. 28th Jamadi ul Aakhar 1440 A.H.
 
On Thursday 7th March 2019, the age of the New Moon after the Sun has set is:    

Sunset 6.40 p.m.
Crescent age at Sunset 23 hours 35 minutes     
Moonset 7.24 p.m.
Time Duration 44 minutes
Crescent Elongation at Sunset      10.82 degrees
Moon Altitude at Sunset 9.97 degrees

SIGHTING IS POSSIBLE

The best time to observe the crescent is when the sun is 5 degrees below the horizon at 6.57 p.m., when the crescent will Insha’Allah be 4 degrees South of West, 1 degree North of where the sun had set.
