The
Kenya General Elections held on Friday 27th December 2002 were
concluded peacefully and won by Mr. Mwai Kibaki of the
National Rainbow Coalition, whose
party also won the majority parliamentary seats.
Over
all the election passed off smoothly and peacefully, all members of our
Community in Kenya are safe.
The
Africa Federation Chairman together with heads of other Asian Communities will
shortly be meeting Mr. Kibaki to pledge their support and loyalty to the new
head of state.
The
swearing in ceremony is taking place today Monday 30th December 2002
and is being attended by various head of states from East and South Africa.
Mumineen
