Eid Message by the Chairman of Mombasa Jamaat Alhaj Mohamed Hemani - Friday 6th December 2002
Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.
Brothers, Salamun Alaykum.
First and foremost, we thank Allah that we are alive today and blessed with the opportunity of having completed the fast of the Holy month of Ramadhan.
May Allah in His Mercy accept our Roza and Aamaal and bless us all with the barakaat of this Eid-ul- Fitr. Amin.
Borthers, I take this opportunity of conveying to you all - Eid Mubarak.
If we recall the holy month of Ramadhan last year and until the completion of the holy month this year, it is sad to record that we have lost many Momineen and Mominat during the last 12 months. Let us remember them all. May I request you to please join me in offering Sura-e-Fateha for all Marhoomeen. Al fateha.
Alhamdullillah, we have been able to complete the holy month of Ramadhan with utmost harmony, understanding and mutual co-operation. On behalf of the Jamaat, I wish to thank all brothers and sisters for their active involvement and participation in all activities during the holy month and for being so patient and understanding for any inconveniences caused due to renovation work being carried out.
Here, I would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to all the active and silent workers of the Community and to the young and enthusiastic volunteers in both the ladies and gents sections for their excellent co-operation and dedication in selfless services. My special thanks also go to our young volunteers for the excellent job done in manning the Parking lot. To each one, I say, Jazakallah and Barakallah.
As you go out, please collect your copy of the Jamaat Chronicle which will provide highlights of the various Jamaat activities.
You will observe that various repairs, maintenance and renovation work are underway at the Hyderi Mosque complex. Upon completion of the work, you will be able to observe for yourselves the essential changes that have been brought about especially in the kitchen, and in catering for the needs in ladies section. The estimated total cost of this work is around 3.5 million Shillings.
After the work at the Hyderi Mosque complex is completed, Inshallah, it is proposed to undertake replacement of the roof at the Huseini Mosque and other necessary renovations at the Huseini Mosque complex.
Upkeep and improvement of the Mosque and the Imambara facilities and their environments are essential tasks that have to be carried out to fulfil the needs of the time. Momineen wishing to contribute towards these Ba-qeaatu-ssalehat and earn Sawabe Jaari, are welcome to make their contributions.
Brothers, we live in Kenya. We are nationals of this country. We owe a debt of gratitude to our motherland where we have prospered. In that spirit, let us all join together, on this day of barakaat to pray for peace and tranquility to prevail all over Kenya and also pray for the happiness and prosperity of all throughout the country. Amin.
Brothers, we cannot overlook what is going on around us and in the world. The Muslim Umma is passing through difficult times. We are part and parcel of that greater Muslim Umma. We also have our duties and obligations towards the society at large. Let us be conscious and aware of the realities and in our own ways, strive to work towards and pray for better understanding, tolerance and harmony to prevail between Muslims and non Muslims throughout the world.
To conclude, I will now request the Hon. Secretary, Br.Fazleabbas Bhanji to kindly read out the Eid message received from Haji Zulfikarbhai Khimji, Chairman of the Federation of the Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri Jamaats of Africa.
Ahsant.
