Communication from

the Chairman of

Africa Federation

On behalf of the Office Bearers at the Africa Federation, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Arusha Jamaat for hosting the just concluded 60th Supreme Session. I would also like to accord my sincere gratitude to the Secretary General of the KSIMC of the World Federation – Alhaj Sibtainbhai Panjwani, along with the Chairmen of all Constituent Jamaats, Councilors, Trustees and Invitees who attended this Session and actively, honestly and openly participated in the deliberations. I would also like to thank them for the guidance that they offered and overall, many lessons were learnt and we at Africa Federation, will consider more deeply the deliberations and take the appropriate action too.

The Youth Conference was a great success too. With participants from Mombasa, Nairobi, Dar es Salaam, Tanga, Arusha, Mwanza and the U.K, certain issues were discussed, which were befitting for the Youths of today. As you are aware, these are the Youths who will be at the helm tomorrow and all necessary support should be given to them. It was observed that we in Africa have intelligent and hidden talent in the Youth fraternity, both in ladies and gents, for which we should have confidence in their future leadership.

At the Session, various issues were discussed. The Tabligh report was an eye-opener for many, especially with its history portrayed. We need to expand our wings and be with the current time, to catch up with the fast growing and spreading of Islam, both here in Africa and in the West too. Africa Federation now needs to make a policy and know the exact direction and destination of all issues that affect our Community. The policy will include:

a)     Tabligh.

b)    Education.

c)     Investments and Finance.

d)    Inclusion of youth – women and men.

Community members are hereby advised to be proactive, as we are going through difficult times and we are inviting constructive suggestions and proposals and if anybody is willing to offer his or her voluntary skills in their respective Jamaats, they are welcome.

We should be prepared to face the indigenisation policy of the Africa continent at large, for which the best tool is to prioritize Education and Unity.

May Allah (S.W.T) bless you all.

With salaams and duas,

Zulfikar Haiderali Khimji.

Chairman,

Africa Federation.
