Tauheed International comes to Tanzania
The Quarterly Journal, Tauheed International was launched in Tanzania this evening at
the Dar es Salaam Imambara following a majlis by Dr. Kalbe-e-Sadiq who is also the founder
of the publication. During the launching ceremony, Mehboob Somji, the Chairman of
the Dar es Salaam Jamat Tabligh Section narrated excerpts from the 16 page glossy issue
outlining the good quality of articles carried. He also briefed the attendance on the
background of Dr. Kalbe-e-Sadiq who is a famous self-styled orator well known among the
Muslims of the sub-continent and also popular among the Muslims of Europe and America
where his scholarly speeches have been heard for the past 24 years.
Dr. Sadiq, a resident of Lucknow, India is the General Secretary of the Tauheedul
Muslimeen Trust and the Vice President of the Muslim Personal Law Board in India. The
Tauheedul Muslimeen Trust is a non-profit and charity registered Trust which works at an
international level with the primary objective of uplifting educational values in the
community. Dr. Sadiq did his Doctorate in Arabic in the year 1971 from Aligarh Muslim
University in India following which his thesis comprising of almost 700 pages was
published by Dairat-al, Ma'arif-al-Islamia, Hyderabad (India). He professes on unity
amongst the Muslims at large and is generally above sectarianism. He is also a powerful
voice for the Muslims in India and during a recent incident on the occasion of
Milad-un-Nabi, which was also attended by Inder Kumar Gujral, the Prime Minister of India,
he made a fervent speech addressing the plight of Muslims in India. He said that while
communal
parties openly express their vendetta against the Muslims, the so-called secular parties
are hampering the progress of Muslims by restricting their access to good education and
fruitful trade. He supported his arraignment with startling facts and figures.
During his short visit to Dar es Salaam, Dr. Sadiq is accompanied by the Chief Editor of
Tauheed International, Hadi Askari who said that the primary objectives of Tauheed
International is to improve communication of thoughts, ideas and news among the Muslims
and to inculcate Islamic knowledge into the minds of the younger generation. He said the
first word of the revelation of the Holy Qur'an, "Iqra" which means
"Read", by itself underlines the importance of reading in Islam.
Tauheed International is published by the Muhammadi Education and Publications
Organisation from London. This Organisation was founded in 1992 with an aim to
