Ten
killed at Pakistan mosque
Ten
people have been killed and 15 others injured in a shooting spree during prayers
at a Shiite mosque in Rawalpindi.
Two
gunmen went into the mosque to fire on worshippers while a third waited outside,
Senior Police Superintendent Syed Murawat Ali.
The
shooting occurred during evening prayers at Shah-e-Najs mosque just outside
Islamabad, local authorities added.
Eyewitness
Mohammad Ashgar told Reuters: "We heard gunshots and we rushed here. When
we entered the mosque, we saw wounded people and dead bodies.
"We
asked for help in getting the wounded and dead bodies out of the mosque. We took
them to the hospital."
About
30 people were praying at the time. Officials say at least 10 of the casualties
are in a serious condition.
Ali
said: "So far in Rawalpindi in the last two years this is worst case of
sectarian violence.
"The government of Punjab is offering a reward for any information on any of the people involved in the shooting,"
