Africa Federation plans
to restore Kilwa Mosque Complex
The
Chairman of Africa Federation had an opportunity to visit Kilwa Kivinje on
Wednesday 30th August 2001 during his Southern Region Jamaat
visits.
Kilwa Kivinje, an old
historic town has a Mosque, Imambaragah and Kabrastan established by Khoja
Shia residents a very long time ago.
The
Complex presently has a Maalim teaching the Ahlul Bayt (a.s.) faith to
local children but it is in a dilapidated state.
Africa
Federation appeals to ex-Kilwa residents and momineen worldwide to assist
the Africa Federation in restoring this historic institution. Comments,
suggestions, funds, volunteers and any assistance be directed to Africa
Federation offices in Dar-es-Salaam or Nairobi.
