Undoubtedly, teachers play an important role in the lives of
students. At the Husayni Madrasah, we have close to 150 staff
members that include administrators, teachers, assistant
teachers and volunteers. It is these individuals who have
dedicated their time and efforts to the education of around 1500
students.
In
addition to our consistent appreciation for the teachers, the
Madrasah continues to hold seminars, workshops and training
sessions for the teachers. During the month of March, a training
session for Girls’ Madrasah Teachers was held on the 14th
and the Boys’ Madrasah Teachers had a session on 12th
April.
Both
these sessions were conducted by Br. Mazaher A. Tejani, who
shall continue facilitating such sessions for the remainder of
the 1st Term.
The
main aim of the session was to expose the teacher to the impact
he/she can make in the lives of students, both in the classroom
and beyond. The discussion emphasized the fact that every
individual involved with the Madrasah remains a ROLE MODEL whom
the students continuously observe, look up to and imitate.
Further discussions were held on the necessity of the teacher to
be available, and approachable, again within the classroom
environment, as well beyond, especially in venues such as the
Mosque, Imambarghas, etc.
Teachers were also enlightened on the area of students with
special needs, not only restricted to physical and learning
disabilities, but also considering the socio-economic and
familial background of the student.
The
session concluded with the opportunity for teachers to share
their experiences and bring forth any questions and concerns
they had. |
