Eye Camp at Lukanga Village Mkuranga District on 19/4/09 and subsequent cataract surgeries on 27/4/09 at the district hospital in collaboration with Beta Charitable Trust (UK)

Free eye camp was established in Lukanga village Mkuranga Dist on 19th April 09 wherein 330 people were screened for minor eye ailments from which the following cases were detected: |

21 Matured cataracts 36 Immature cataracts 9 Conjunctivitis 4 Presbyopia 10 Photophobia 5 Corneal Scar 1 Maculopathy 6 Pterygium 1 Trachoma

208 Pairs of spectacles and 320 units of eye drops & ointment were delivered free of charge as prescribed.
9 cataract surgeries were performed by Dr John on 27th April 09 at Mkuranga Hospital
