Communities visits Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya

Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya was honoured to receive  the World Federation's President Dr. Ahmed Hassam during his recent tour to Mombasa. The central and core purpose of Dr Hassam's visit to Africa was to observe first hand the work undertaken by front line workers in delivering the Tableegh Agenda. An elaborate programme was organised to visit Eight Bilal centres in the Rural Areas of Coast province.

Braving the hot sun and bad condition of our roads for two consecutive days, on 12TH and 13TH September 2005, Dr Ahmed Hassam travelled to the Rural areas to see the Madaris, Nursery, Primary schools and the Masajid projects. Muminin received Dr Ahmed Hassam in the traditional African hospitality.

It was a historic event  for the Shia Community in the Rural areas to meet with the President of World Federation for the first time. He met with the Community Elders, Parents and the children. During the visits he shared our joys and concern. He saw the structures , some dilapidated and some requiring major renovations. In certain areas he expressed the need to build new ones to supplement our efforts to propagate Madhhabe Haq. In his address to the community he underscored the importance of education and advised the parents to take keen interest in the madrasah and school education of their children. In addition he  emphasised on looking into ways and means of empowering our deprived Shia Community in the Rural areas

At the end of the trip a tree planting ceremony was held at Jaffery Centre in Mackinnon Road village. This was the first Centre in the Rural area set up in 1972

Ahmedbhai commended the Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya for its Tableeghy activities and assured continued support of the World Federation at all times.
