UPDATE : POST ELECTION CRISIS

 

Presentation Function at the Kenya Red Cross office

 

In order to assist the victims of the post election crises in Kenya, Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya launched an appeal worldwide to help the needy in the affected areas. The funds collected from this appeal is used for buying food stuff for distribution at Bilal Centres and also to the affected Kenyans in general through Kenya Red Cross Society.

 

A colourful ceremony took place at the Kenya Red Cross office on Friday, January 25, 2008 at 10.30 a.m whereby Maize flour and oil was officially handed over to the Kenya Red Cross Society for onward distribution to the areas affected by the crises. 

 

 

 

 

The ceremony was attended by representatives from the Bilal Mission of Kenya and officers from Kenya Red Cross Society. Many Units of Press were also present to capture the event.

Bales of Maize flour and cartons of cooking oil were staked at the site where the function was to preside.  The programme commenced by Mr. Ngugi, KRCS Chairman introducing the cause of the day’s function. He also thanked BMMK for their humanitarian concern and generous donations. Thereafter, Abbas bhai Nasser, BMMK Chairman addressed on behalf of BMMK.

 

 

 

In his speech, Abbas bhai commended Kenya Red Cross Society for facilitating the distribution. He also stated that BMMK was concerned about the situation and urged the Kenyan Leaders to reconcile for the sake of the people of Kenya. He advised Kenyans to live like brothers and sisters as done in the past. He was very grateful to all donors worldwide who have donated to needy Kenyans irrespective of class, colour, creed or Religious affiliation. He also thanked M/S Milly Grains for their generous donation of 100 bales of Maize flour.

 

 

Later, the official presentation of 500 bales of maize flour and 100 cartons of cooking oil was done to Kenya Red Cross officials. These will later be distributed to the needy in the crises location and officers from BMMK will participate in the distribution.

 

 

Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya takes this opportunity to convey heartfelt appreciations to all the donors for their worthy donations in cash or kind.  We pray to the Almighty Allah (swt) to shower His choicest blessings of prosperity, good health and long life to all who contributed towards this worthy cause.
