Reserved: Careers Workshop For BMMK Students

A one day advisory programme was held on 13th August 2007 at Bilal Hall, Mombasa. Participants were ZCSS sponsored students who have completed Form Four Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (K.C.S.E).

The programme started with the assessment of the students in Quran recitation and Islamic Knowledge in regards to various subjects like Aqaid, Tarikh, Akhlaq and Fiqh.

Thereafter the participants were taken through participative training on the following:

  • To identify students areas of interest and ambition in regards to their performance in the KSCE examination.
  • To state their current occupation in their daily lives.
  • To determine their course of action and field of study they wish to venture.
  • Financial tips in budget, savings, daily expenses.

During the sessions, participants were allotted slots to present their experiences after KCSE and narrate services they render to the community at the rural centres. This session motivated others to follow suit and preoccupy in kinds of income generating activities.

Students were advised to be ambitious and have intentions to pursue further for relevant Technical / Vocation or Degree courses. Their savings can then contribute for such pursuit.
