The World is once again witnessing Israel bombarding Lebanon resulting in
deaths of innocent lives and damage to properties.
Islamic Scholars
including Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Sistani, Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei,
Ayatollah Sayyed M. H. Fadlullah, Ayatollah Nasir Makarem Shirazi and
Ayatollah Fazel Lankarani have issued statements condemning this
violent and
merciless act in Lebanon.
The offices
of our Maraje' in Damascus have set up relief programmes to help the
refugees arriving n Syria for protection, of which many are women and
children. The World Federation's contact in Damascus has visited the offices
of the Maraje' and has visited the Lebanese refugees.
The World Federation has decided
to help the destitute Lebanese public through the Office of our Marja'
Ayatullah al Udhama Syed Ali al Husaini al Sistani.
Members of the Community wishing to donate
towards cause, may channel their funds through their respective Jamaat for
further disbursement to the Africa Federation or direct to the Africa
Federation Secretariat in Nairobi or Dar-es-Salaam.
Mumineen are requested to pray for the safety
of our brothers in Lebanon and for the souls of the departed ones and the
health of the injured.
