THE FEDERATION MOURNS THE SAD DEMISE OF ALHAJ MURTAZA AHMED LAKHA OF LONDON

The Africa Federation
received with great sorrow the sad news of the sudden demise of Barrister Alhajj
Murtaza Ahmed Abdulrasul Lakha which occurred on 18th May 2010 (3rd
Jamadil Al Thanni 1431 AH) in London, UK. Marhum was buried on 19th
May 2010 (4th Jamadil Al Thanni 1431).
Marhum Alhajj Murtaza
Lakha was born in Zanzibar, Tanzania and studied in the UK. He started his
career as Lawyer at a very young age in Zanzibar, he later moved to mainland,
Dar es Salaam, before migrating to England where he continued practicing as
Barrister at Law. Marhum was internationally renowned speaker who travelled
worldwide to deliver lectures on various Islamic subjects and reciting majlises
in different languages during the holy months of Ramadhan, and during the Ashra-e-Muharram
and Safar.
It is befitting to
mention that Marhum was liked by one and all for his righteous, humble and
pleasant nature.
The Africa Federation
Secretariat on several occasions sought his advice on several matters, he was
always willing and supportive to guide us, we are deeply saddened to lose such a
personality who was always forthcoming to help whenever needed.
Marhum was a
successful Barrister, a Renowned Speaker, a Scholar, a Social Worker and Zakir-e-Imam
Hussein (a.s.). His demise is a big loss to the Shia community worldwide.
May Allah (swt) grant
Marhum maghferat and a place among His chosen ones. Ameen.
We request you to
remember Marhum in your prayers.
