CONSTITUTION REVIEW COMMITTEE

At the 23^rd Triennial Conference held in Arusha from 6^th to 8^th April 2007, the Resolution from the Secretariat requesting the mandate of the Constitution Review Committee (CRC) to be extended to December 2007 was adopted.

Alhaj Amir Somji was appointed as the Chairman of the Committee which consists of the following members

Alhaj Abdulrazak Khalfan                     – South Africa   

Alhaj Dr Asghar Moledina                    – Maputo        

Alhaj Iqbal Sounderjee                         - Madagascar

Alhaj Mohamed Nathoo                       – Dar-es-Salaam         

Alhaj Shabbir Najafi                             – Kampala      

The following were appointed as co-opted Members by the Chairman of the CRC

Alhaj Amir Merali                                 – Mombasa

Alhaj Mohamed Hemani                       – Mombasa

Mukhtar Assaria                                   – Nairobi

The Committee shall propose amendments to the Constitution of the Africa Federation, which they deem necessary to amend and present to the Secretariat by 31^st December 2007.
 

The Secretariat shall submit these amendments to the constituent Jamaats of Africa Federation latest by 15^th January 2008 for their views with a deadline of 15^th February 2008.  Thereafter the Secretariat shall issue appropriate notice to convene a constitutional Conference before the 66^th Session of the Supreme Council of April 2008.
