THE FATHER OF THE BOARDING HOUSE
Alhaj Sulemani Muhamad Bhimji
The President of Supreme Council Haji Ebrahimbhai Shariff inquired how the large donations were collected for the running of the boarding house. He mentioned that it seems Sulemanbhai Muhamad Bhimji holds the golden key for collecting the funds and this tactic can help the running of Supreme Council. In reply to this Sulemanbhai informed that a circular was issued requesting the members of all the Jamats to contribute during the marriage and death ceremonies held in their families hence the funds were collected. Moreover during last year's {1960} Council meeting in Arusha, Sulemanbhai had appealed to the public about the budget required for the running of the boarding house, in lieu of this some well wishers contributed generously, thus the practice of donation outshines. Furthermore on behalf of the boarding house committee, Sulemanbhai sincerely thanked all those Jamats their committee members as well as the members who contributed for the boarding house and humbly requests all the East African Jamats to continue their support.
Taking this into consideration Br. R. R. Jaffer passed a resolution which was seconded by Muhamadjaffer Nasser Virjee, for which the accounts were clearly accepted.
Haji Ebrahimbhai announced, we sincerely appreciate the selfless services of Sulemanbhai Bhimji towards the boarding house.
Under the Patronage and efforts of Sulemanbhai the parents without any doubt sent their sons to the boarding house and whenever he appealed for funds the generous donors responded immediately.
In return of the services rendered by Sulemanbhai as a caretaker of the boarding house, he was honored by the President Haji Ebrahimbhai as the 'Father of the boarding house" We also thank Br Gulamali Jessa, Murabbi Jumabhai Haji and Br. Muhamadali Janmuhamad for their continuous support.
