THE NEW MASJID AND IMAMBARGHA IN SONGEA
On 24th Zilhajj 1383 (7th May 1964) in Songea, a beautiful Masjid and Imambargha has been raised through the generosity of Ladhabhai Dinani and Jadawjibhai Dhanji and the opening ceremony was held with celebrations.
While delivering a speech, the Jamaat’s Secretary Fidahuseinbhai Mohamed Khaki informed that:-
By the Grace of Almighty Lord and mercy of 14 infallibles within the last 35 to 40 years, our community brothers of Songea have now succeeded to raise a Masjid and Imambargha. He said as you are all aware, it has been possible to accomplish this necessity, through the generosity of Late Ladhabhai Dinani’s sons as well as Late Jadawjibhai Dhanji’s sons, where one family contributed for the Masjid and the other for the Imambargha, who have gained the full benefits of this world and the hereafter.
Fazalbhai’s generous donations is not a secret, he contributed shs 10,000/= towards the Dar-es-Salaam boarding, shs 10 000/= towards Council’s Foundation Fund and other various contributions which are highly appreciable. And today by building this Masjid, he has added one more important contribution.
In spite of losing his daughter recently, he didn’t fail to attend the opening ceremony, traveling 800 miles up and down from Lindi which is a sign of respect towards religion. May the Almighty shower His mercy on Late Ladhabhai Dinani’s sons to succeed in the religious and worldly gains for such a good deed.
Now let me add few words for the sons of Late Jadawjibhai, their contribution towards the foundation fund (shs 10 000/=), the old Mehfil’s flooring and praying facility at the graveyard were donated by them. Songea jamat is indebted to the beloved president Br. Gulamali’s hard work in supervising these projects of “Mehfil” and “Masjid”, not caring for his business and working tirelessly day and night to accomplish such noteworthy projects. Had it not been for his courageous intention and sacrifice, these projects may have taken longer to be accomplished. All the necessary expenses required were mostly borne by Gulamali and his brothers. May the Almighty fulfill the legitimate desires of all the sons of Late Jadawjibhai and may they succeed in every task (Amen).
To conclude on behalf of Songea Jamaat, I am accepting the donations from both the families for their generous contributions of building the Masjid and Imambargha and once again I pray to the Lord to reward both families - the religious and worldly gains in return of their contributions (Amen).
Finally the Secretary thanked all those who participated for the opening ceremony, especially those who had traveled from Lindi, Tunduru and those who had helped in one way or the other in the building of the Masjid and Imambargha; amongst them Br. Sherali Jeraj was mentioned.
