THE FEDERATION FLAG

Designer:

The Federation has to place on record that Haji Husainalibhai G Merchant J. P. of Bombay, India was the original designer of our Federation Flag. The flag was initially designed by Haji Husainbhai for our Jamats in India and Pakistan but later the Federation adopted the same design as its communal flag for our Jamats in   Africa.

Haji Husainalibhai is one of the prominent industrialists of our community in Bombay He is a devoted servant of the community and performs valuable social and welfare services. He is the trustee of our several leading trusts in India. The Government of Maharashtra made him a .J.P. in the year 1965 in appreciation of his services to the State.

The Federation prays for his prosperity, taufikat and longevity to continue to serve the community.

The Federation has accepted the above as it own Community Flag.

Launch of the Federation Flag at the Zanzibar Kuwwat Jamaat:

During the Eid Celebration of Eid Ul Haj (10 Zilhajj 1380), the entire community of East Africa had a double occasion to celebrate one as every one is aware the Eid and second was that the  community   hoisted    its banner throughout East Africa for the first time. The colour is composed of twelve stars with Khane Kaba in the middle. Almost every portion of the flag has its own historical background   of our Holy Imam and Prophet

The ceremonial hosting of the flag took place at the Imambara balcony when the mosque was packed   to   capacity, to see the high priest assisted by Mr. Jaffer President   of   Kuwwatul Islam Jamat hoisting officially   the community, colour. The flag symbolizes our faith, cooperation and unity among the fellow Jamat.   With the inception of this banner, we are now really federated under one flag.    The flag will   flutter for the all the years that lie ahead   and   it now   exhibits our loyalty towards the   Federation to which we are federated with our fellow Jamat member.  We hope and   pray this flag will guide us   in peace and   prosperity, in unity and close co-operation among ourselves said Mr. Jaffer when delivering the official presidential address at the gathering.

The ceremony started with the recitation of holy Quran followed by a presidential Address.  The Muki of the Jamat read an official message from the president of the Federation Maulana Seyyid Tahzibul Hassan explained to the gathering the symbol quoting examples from the glorious history of our Imams.

Prayers were then offered by the High Priest before the colour was broken by the High Priest assisted by Mr. Rahim.  May we all live in peace, unity and co-operation for all the years that lie ahead under this true banner of Islam.
