The Shia Asna Asheri Jamaat (SAAJ) of Nairobi through the Tabligh Section organized a Convention - The Interreligious Concept of Humanity with the objectives of uniting communities of different religions and sects under the common message of Humanity preached by all, and with the theme showing that the Saint by the name of Hussain bin Ali (AS) stood for a universal message for all of humanity. 

The Program was held on Sunday 25th of November 2018 in Nairobi and was graced by a number of dignitaries, including the Africa Federation Chairman, Alhaj Shabir Najafi, with his team of Office Bearers. Also present was the Chairman and Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims, and representatives Ismaili, Hindu and Christian communities in Nairobi. Amongst the audience were also academicians and scholars.
 

 
The enlightening event had different flavors of approach, where everyone had a chance to present messages which were well received by the audience.

Children from Nairobi Jaffery School presented two lovely skits on the principles of humanity – Selflessness and forgiveness.

The program also included a speech by youths from the Hindu and the Christian communities to explain their religious perspectives on humanity.

Finally, there was an open panel discussion with the Scholars and Academicians of each community where issues regarding humanity were addressed from all different religious perspectives followed by constructive and healthy discussions.

KHOJA SHIA ITHNA-ASHERI LINDI JAMAAT
MUHARRAM IN LINDI – 2018 (1440 A.H.)

 

Muharram the month of reflection and reformation, the month to remember the martyrs and the battle of Karbala in 61 A.H. (680 AD) it is the month of mourning and when “Labbaik Ya Hussein” is heard the loudest. Muharram an opportunity for us to serve in every aspect possible for the love of Imam Hussein (a.s).

The preparation for the first 12 days starts a month before whereby the Jamaat makes arrangement for the Zakir and Zakira, Majlis, Azadari and Nyaz. On the other side, youths prepare to participate for different activities such as Juloos, Karbala model/project and more.

The Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri Jamaat Dar-es-Salaam organized the AFED Solidarity Day Walk on Saturday 5th May 2018.  A small function was held before the commencement of the Walk which included recitation of the verses from the Holy Quran and Dua Hujjat followed by the ribbon cutting ceremony which was performed by the World Federation President Anwarali bhai Dharamsi, Africa Federation Vice Chairman Aunali bhai Khalfan, Dsm Jamaat Vice Chairman Riyaz bhai Bhojani and other dignitaries present jointly.

The walk was attended by approximately 150 - 170 participants including Madrassah students who thoroughly enjoyed the cool weather and the walk.

This year like in the previous years, Arusha Jamaat organized the annual AFED Solidarity Day Walk on Sunday, 13th of May 2018 involving male and female members, as expected from the close-knit and vibrant community members they showed up in big numbers to support this noble cause with great passion.
 
The program started from the mosque compound at 8.30 a.m. where everyone assembled and the walk commenced at 9.00 a.m. with the blessings of some verses from the Holy Qur’an. Old and young including children braved in the drizzling cold walked together in Solidarity cognizant of the underline purpose of the walk - a noble cause to bring about awareness of the importance of celebrations of the auspicious occasion of the birth of the Awaited Imam, Al Hujjah Al Mahdi (ATFS) and fundraising for the plight of the needy and deserving in our community.

Al Muntazir Special Education Needs (AMSEN) holds A World Autism Day Walk Organized by Central Board of Education (CBE) of KSI Jamaat of Dar Es Salaam on 25th March 2018

The Al Muntazir Schools have earned the reputation of constantly evolving and striving for excellence in the provision of quality of education to the children, regardless of age, gender, race or sects. For the past 30 years, the Al Muntazir Schools have spread the light of education to children from the ages of 2.5 to 18 years. Over the years, it has continued to expand and increase the spectrum of education from Nursery, to Primary to Secondary and then to A Levels.

The Autism Awareness Walk 2017 – 2nd April 2017 – Dar-es-Salaam

The KSIJ Dar-es-Salaam Central Board of Education (KSIJ CBE) governs the Al Muntazir Schools that educates children from the ages of 1.5 years to 18 years through their Al Muntazir Toddlers and Day Care Centre, Al Muntazir Union Nursery School, Al Muntazir Primary Schools and Al Muntazir Islamic Seminary.

The KSIJ CBE also caters for children with special needs through the Al Muntazir Special Education Needs (AMSEN) Unit. The AMSEN has grown multiple folds in the last Four years after the takeover from the World Federation Autistic Day Care Centre in 2013, and is solely devoted to provide holistic care for children with learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Dyslexia, Down Syndrome, Celebral Palsy and many more. The goal is to create awareness, shape the future of our students and provide an environment where children will inculcate essential skills to be independent, productive and lead a meaningful life within the limitations imposed by the disorders.

At the Annual General Meeting of Tanga KSI Jamaat held at the Imambargha on 28th January, 2017, Alhaj Gulamali S. Khakoo was elected to the post of Chairman of the Jamaat for a term of two years 2016-2018. The election was well contested and the attendance was reasonably good compared with the previous such meetings.
 
The AFED Secretariat is pleased to see some youth who have come forward whole heartedly to serve the Jamaat and bring in new impetus to the Tanga Jamaat and its development.
