The annual Africa Federation Solidarity Day marked on 15th Sha’ban every year will this year Insha’allah fall on Sunday 22nd May 2016.

The Solidarity Day activities within our constituent Jamaats shall Inshaállah start from 1st to 25th Sha’ban 1437 (8th May to 1st June 2016).
We request all Jamaats and Territorial Councils in Africa to organize special events like Charity Walk, Fun Fare, Sports and other activities within the bounds of our Shariah to raise funds for this Special Day.  This great event would also provide an opportunity to bring together community members from different age groups on a common platform under one banner of Solidarity to celebrate the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of our 12th Imam, Al Hujjah Al Mahdi (ATFS).

Africa Federation is grateful to the family of Alhaj Gulamabbas Dewji (GD) for the donation of a Plot for the development of the housing project. The Plot is located on Band Street (corner of Libya Street), Dar es Salaam comprising of approx 378 Sq. M.
Gulam Bhai’s donation has instilled renewed impetus towards the AFED Housing Project strategy. The handing over of the plot took place on 17th January, 2016.

1882 - 1956

Al Hajj Dharamsi Gangji was born in 1882 in Nanglepur, Cutch, India. He was the eldest of six male sons of Gangji Sivji, a Khoja subsistence farmer. The family practiced the Shia Ismaili sect of Islam.
The summer monsoon rainfall is the major prerequisite of agricultural productivity in Cutch, and when the monsoon failed in 1896 and again in 1899, there was a severe drought followed by famine.
The famines of 1896–97 and 1899–1900 in India affected almost the entire subcontinent, causing severe distress, debility, and mortality, killing over four million people. The effect on the Gangji farm was devastating. Life was very hard for the family and in 1899; Gangji Sivji decided to send his eldest son, Dharamsi, to East Africa.

The Africa Federation Electoral Commissioner, Alhaj Gulamabbas Khaku has declared Alhaj Shabir Najafi elected Chairman of The Federation of Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri Jamaats of Africa for the term 2016 – 2019. Shabir bhai was the only candidate for the post.

Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania (BMMT) organized a grand program to celebrate the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W) on the eve of 16th January 2016, after Isha prayers, a grand event was witnessed with big gathering of more than 1,200 Muslims both ladies and gents from all communities of different sects at Bilal Islamic Center (Masjid at Udowe), Kariakoo, Ilala municipalty in Dar es Salaam.

The Madrassah Centre of Excellence (MCE) of the World Federation in collaboration with the Africa Federation Tabligh Board (AFTab) organized and conducted four Teacher’s Development Programs – Neuro Psychology of Learning for 71 Madrassah Teachers from the Jamaats of Arusha, Dar es Salaam, Mwanza and Moshi.
The Programs were conducted in Dar es Salaam from 9th to 12th January 2016 (Two Sessions of two days) and facilitated by the MCE Neuro – Psychology of Learning Facilitators Br. Shabbirhussein Khalfan, Sister Shama Dewji and Sister Shaida Abdulrasul.
Two other similar Sessions were held in Arusha from 16th to 19th January 2016 which were facilitated by Br. Shabbirhussein Khalfan, Sister Shama Dewji, Sister Tahera Shivji and Sister Mubina Sumar.

Kidney failure is when your kidneys stop working well enough for you to live without dialysis or a kidney transplant.  Kidney failure can happen very suddenly (called acute renal failure) or slowly over time. In most cases, kidney failure is permanent.  This is called End-stage Renal Disease or ESRD.

What are the signs and symptoms of kidney failure?

Initially, kidney failure may be not produce any symptoms (asymptomatic). As kidney function decreases, the symptoms are related to the inability to regulate water and electrolyte balances, clear waste products from the body, and promote red blood cell production.
