The Ground Breaking Ceremony of the Amira Apartments at Upanga, Dar-es-Salaam was held on Monday night 28th May 2018 which coincided with 13th night of the Holy Month of Ramadhan Kareem. This is a Joint Housing Project of the Africa Federation (AFED) and the World Federation (WF) in collaboration with the KSI Jamaat of Dar Es Salaam.
The plot measuring 800 Sq. M is located in a prime residential area along Mfaume Road in Upanga area of Dar Es Salaam has been donated to AFED by the WF, through the good efforts of Alhaj Ahmed Daya, the WF Executive Councillor in London, U.K. for the housing development project for our community members.

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

My Dear Community Members,
As-Salaamun Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh
All praise is due to Allah (S.W.T.), the beneficent, the merciful by whose grace and blessings we have completed the holy month of Ramadhan and have gathered here today to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr in a blissful environment. On this auspicious and divine day, on behalf of the Africa Federation Office Bearers, Trustees and Councilors, and on my own behalf, I wish you and your families Eid Mubarak.
May Allah (S.W.T.) in His grace and mercy accept all our good deeds, forgive our shortcomings and grant us glad tidings of mercy and forgiveness, Ameen.

He rendered wholehearted Services to the Community

Haji Ramzanali Salemohammed Jagani was born in Bharapur, Cutch, India in 1912 and migrated to Uganda in 1926. There he rendered various community services until 1972 when he moved to London during the Uganda Exodus.

The Best Student Award Scheme recognizes the accomplishments of students within our community who have achieved outstanding results at O–levels. It has been conducted successfully since 1989 by the Education Board under the auspices of the Federation of KSI Jamaats of Africa.
The award is open to boys and girls who have appeared for the National Examination and Overseas Board Examination “O” levels during the academic year i.e. January to December.
This year, the Education Board received applications from Dar es Salaam, Mombasa, & Arusha. After close scrutiny on the set criteria of selection, the following are the results:

On behalf of the Education Board Secretariat of the Africa Federation, we extend our heartiest congratulations to the winners and the runner up for their outstanding achievements.



In 1974 Mombasa Jamaat lost one of its oldest and dedicated leader Haji Mohamedali Dhalla.

Haji Mohamedali Dhalla was born in Machakos in 1906 and joined the family business in Mombasa at a very young age. He efficiently handled the business to place it amongst the leading companies in transport and furniture. The business continued to thrive with his good management. 
Marhum Haji Mohamedali served the Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri Kuwwatul Islam Jamaat of Mombasa for a number of years and also played a leading role in Education Board, Faize-Husseini, Jafferi Club and Murtaza Ali Trust. His services to the community continued for 50 years.

He passed away on 21st April, 1974 leaving a large family behind.

The Africa Federation Capacity Building Group capitulated on its recent trip to Madagascar by conducting a Master class for the LDP Alumni and a Mentor development program on completion of the Leadership Development Program.

The Master class facilitated by Br. Shabbirhussein Khalfan and Sr. Shama Dewji, covered Emotional intelligence, Transactional analysis and Drama Triangle, highlighting skills for effective communication.

The session ran on the night of 11th May 2018 from 8:30 p.m. at the Madressah’s Conference room, for a total of 25 participants.

Moving away from home to an unfamiliar country to study is hard enough! Add doing the holy month of Ramadhan away from home and it can actually feel quite depressing. For me, it is definitely the month I look forward to. Lazy stay-at-home days filled with Quran recitation, Mummy-made iftaars, rushing off to Quran Khani and being surrounded by a comforting blanket of Quran and Dua recitation-all familiar aspects of doing Ramadhan at home. But one important thing, I luckily realised soon enough, is that it is only as depressing as YOU make it out to be. I realised that instead of feeling sorry for myself, I needed to get up and actually do something to make myself feel better. In trying to find what to do, I asked myself, what are the main things I miss when doing Ramadhan away from home? I came up with the following TIPs. That stands for Tradition, Involvement and the People.
