Dear Brothers and Sisters

Salaamun Alaykum.

The Mombasa Jamaat is proud to launch an interactive website this Friday 12th of October, 2012 corresponding to 25th  Mahe Zilqaad, 1433 which coincides with the auspicious day of  Dahwul Ardh  also known as Earth Day.  The website is in honour of the many great personalities who made Mombasa their home over the past century, and who made Mombasa theculturally rich city it is today.

Great importance is given to visiting the graves of those no longer with us; Imam Jaffer-as-Sadiq (a.s.) has said: "Marhumeen recognize you (when you visit them) and feel lonely when you leave them". It is because of this, our Jamaat has maintained its century old tradition of visiting the graveyard every Thursday and on other auspicious days to give the deceased our gift of Dua.

The website, with its clean and intuitive site-design allows users worldwide to search for the burial locations of marhumeen buried in Mombasa, as well as an easy to navigate menu with a wealth of information for members of the community. Finding the graves of any of the Marhumeen buried in Mombasa will now be much easier for those living inMombasa as well as visitors to our beautiful city. The website, which has been extremely well received, offers its users multiple search functionality - including searching by location, grave number as well as first and last names.

As the site contains some missing information, we encourage our global community to help us fill in the missing pieces in order to make this site comprehensive and accurate. Any omissions or errors found on the page may be reported by sending an email to  Once feedback and comments have been received and corrected on the site, we intend to publish a hardcopy version of the directory for the benefit of our community.

The Mombasa Jamaat is extremely grateful to all those who have worked tirelessly in preparing this wonderful and useful website – may the Almighty amply reward them and their families in this world and the next.

Please recite Sura-e-Fateha for all of our Marhumeen.

With Salaams & Duas,

Sibtain H. Sadak
Vice Chairman
K.S.I. Jamaat – Mombasa
