BILAL TANZANIA CONDUCTS FREE EYE CAMP AT KIBAHA
17-18TH SEPTEMBER 2011

A Free Eye Camp was conducted under Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania at WIPAHS Centre in Kibaha, 32 km away from Dar es Salaam on 17 & 18th September 2011 and the following diseases were diagnosed from nine hundred patients screened.

At a young age of 14, Haji Dharamsi Ladha together with Kassamali Ladha left India on a voyage by sea via Zanzibar and reached Majunga (Madagascar), where he got involved in business.

His interest in religious affairs was quite deep and as a youth he used to accompany and get guidance from Allama Haji Gulamali Haji Esmail Saheb and Mulla Kader Hussain Saheb. Moreover through Nathubhai Premji's influence Haji Dharamsibhai became a good Zakir and had a good oratory power.

He went for hajj (Pilgrimage) in 1958. On his return he handed over his business to his five sons, and concentrated more on religious activities as well as community services.

rr_report_bmmtz_1With the blessings of Allah (swt) Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania managed to distribute throughout its regions the Ramadhan Relief from funds provided by the World Federation, Africa Federation and well wishers from all over the world.

We saw yet again some great contributions flowing from all over in welcoming the Holy Month of Ramadhan with charity for the deserving in providing Iftar for breaking of fasts and food baskets to the faithful. Though, the geographical locations of some of our centres have been a challenge.

The Qur'an Competition is an annual event of the Africa Federation under AFTAB, each year it is held in different Jamaats in Africa. This time, the two day's event was held in Dar Es Salaam on 24th and 25th September 2011. It was hosted by Dar Es Salaam Jamaat and sponsored by AFED.

Under the AFED Constitution Sub-Articles 15 a. & b. there shall be two Vice Chairmen of the Federation, one of whom shall be from amongst the Constituent Jamaats of Africa continent and the other from the Regional Council of Madagascar.

The Regional Council of Madagascar has nominated Sabirhoussen bhai who is also presently the Chairman of CONSEIL RÉGIONAL DES KHOJAS SHIA ITHNA – ASHERI JAMATES DE L'OCÉAN INDIEN (Regional Council), as a Vice Chairman of Africa Federation.
