Last farewell to Mulla Saheb. The first Salatul Mayyit at Stanmore Centre was led by Syed Bahrul Uloom.  And to cater for the overflowing crowd, second Salatul Mayyit was led by Syed Kalbe Abbas at Carpenters Park Cemetery.

The Archives Section of the Africa Federation marks the 17th year of the passing away of Mulla Asgharali M. M. Jaffer with this special issue of the Archives News Bulletin.

17 years ago, on 21st March, 2000, Mulla Asgharali was sitting in the London Office of the World Federation of the Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri Muslim Communities talking to Maulana Kalbe Abbas, resident Aalim of the London Jamaat at that time, sadly Mulla suffered a massive heart attack and passed away while still sitting in his chair.

Mulla Haji Janmohamed Kermalli Murji Rawji was born in Hadiyana, Gujarat in 1893. He completed Gujarati medium primary education upto Class 7. He abandoned his studies in English language after one month due to some difficult circumstances.
An incident in 1904 led Janmohamedbhai and his family an opportunity to accept the Shia Ithnaasheri faith. Murabbi Bahadurali Mawji (formerly Bhanji) of Mombasa was known to have changed his name after converting to Ithnaasheri faith. He had arrived at Hadiyana on the occasion of wedding of his son Kassamali to the daughter of Murji Rawji who was an Ismaili.

The annual Africa Federation Solidarity Day marked on 15th Sha’ban every year will this year fall on Friday 12th May 2017.
The Solidarity Day activities within our constituent member Jamaats in Africa will Inshaállah start from 1st to 25th Sha’ban 1438 (28th April to 22nd May 2017).
We request all Jamaats and the Territorial Councils in Africa to organize special events like Charity Walk, Fun Fare, Bake Sale, Sports and other activities involving the Madressahs boys and girls sections to raise funds for this special occasion. This great event would also provide an opportunity to bring together our community members from different age groups on a common platform under one banner of Solidarity to celebrate the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of our 12th Imam, Al Hujjah Al Mahdi (ATFS).

Continuous Professional Development Seminar for Muballigheen - December 2016

Seven Years in a row BMMK Hosts CPD

It is the seventh consecutive year, the Mission in collaboration with IEB of the World Federation of KSIMC, The Federation of KSI Jamaats of Africa and Central Bilal Board organized a ten days workshop for muballigheen and muballighat in an effort to create a platform to share knowledge and experience.

The workshop attracted 86 participants from various organizations in Kenya, Tanzanian and Uganda. The lead facilitator for the seminar was Alhaj Sheikh Ayub Rashid from the United Kingdom.  The workshop commenced on 19th to the 31st of December 2016 at Bilal Hall.

Following Standard Digital News October 2016 newswire: Five counties in the Coast region of Kenya are staring at starvation as the country faces another cycle of famine-related deaths.

Kilifi, Kwale and Samburu counties have received minimal or no rains at all in the past four months. Our Centres located in these counties are also affected.

The situation is threatening 1.3 million lives in Kenya, according to the National Drought Management Authority (NDMA). Kilifi has been identified as having the severest vegetation deficit. Kinango in Kwale and Lamu West sub-counties are also in the severe vegetation deficit. “One county (Kilifi) is in the alarm drought phase, while all others are in alert or normal, with a generally worsening trend,” the authority says in its October national drought early warning bulletin.

We thank Allah (SWT) who gives us guidance and protection. Bilal Muslim of Ugnda continued to conduct different activities in the month of February, herewith below a brief report on these activities.

A seminar on the personality and contribution of Lady Fatemah (AS) towards Islam was conducted.  The seminar was attended by a big numbers by women and girls.

The guest speaker was Ustadh Adam Sebyala; he reminded the gathering that Lady Fatimah (AS) was an excellent role Model to all Muslims women; he continued to say that she was the Holy Prophet’s daughter and served as the best daughter, best wife to her husband and best mother to her children at all times.

The Holy Prophet (SAWW) gave her the title Umme Abeeha which means mother of her father because of the good care she took for him.
