The Africa Federation, a Regional Federation member of the World Federation, has been informed of the nomination of two candidates for the Office of The President of the World Federation for the term 2003 – 2006. The two candidates are: 

Alhaj Dr. Ahmed Hassam      (current Vice President of the World Federation)
Alhaj Dr. Sibtain Panjwani    (current Secretary General of the World Federation) 

In accordance with the Constitution of the World Federation, if two or more candidates stand for Office of the President, then members of the World Federation are supposed to hold elections; and in the case of Regional Federation members, the members of the Regional Federation are supposed to hold elections and inform the Regional Federation Secretariat of the outcome.  

By this circular, the Federation of Khoja Shia Ithna Asheri Jamaats of Africa is hereby requesting all its members to organise an election among their membership and to submit to the Secretariat the exact number of votes cast by their bonafide registered members, giving a breakdown of the exact number of votes cast in respect of each candidate. The voting process will be determined by each Jamaat, meaning that each Jamaat would reasonably be expected to apply their normal voting process. 

The results are to be submitted to the Africa Federation Secretariat latest by 8^th September 2003 as these results have to be submitted as a block from the Africa Federation to the World Federation by 12^th September 2003.
