SUPREME COUNCIL SESSION - 2003 The
61st Session of the Supreme Council meeting of the Federation
of the Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri Jamaats of Africa will insha’allah be
held during the next Easter Holidays commencing Friday 18th to
Monday 21st April 2003 (15th to 18th
Safar 1424). The Calendar of Events under the Constitution is as
follows: 1.
03.03.2003 = 45 DAYS BEFORE THE SUPREME COUNCIL
MEETING:
(i) Notice and Agenda to be issued by the Honorary Secretary for the convening of the meeting of the Supreme Council (Article 24 [c]). (ii)
Motions or Resolutions to be tabled by
Councillors or Jamaat at the Supreme Council Meeting to reach the
Secretariat by 3rd March 2003.
(Article 24[d]). 2.
04.03.2003 = REPORTS BY JAMAATS, BOARDS,
SUB-COMMITTEES, BILAL MUSLIM MISSIONS: (i) Annual reports/accounts to be submitted to the Secretariat by all Boards, Sub-committees and Bilal Muslim Missions. (ii) All Jamaats should also submit their reports to reach the Secretariat by this date. (iii) Nominations for the Sportsman of the Year should reach the Sports Council – Arusha on the prescribed questionnaire. All Jamaats, Boards, Sub-Committees and Bilal Muslim Missions are requested to co-operate and finalise their requirements as stipulated above within the prescribed time limit. 3.
18.03.2003 = 30 DAYS
NOTICE OF RESOLUTIONS: (i) The Secretariat shall give Notice of all motions and resolutions received to all the Councillors and Jamaats as stipulated above (Article 24[d]). COUNCILLORS: The Chairman of every Jamaat by virtue of his office
is a member of the Supreme Council and should endeavour to attend the
meeting. In addition all
elected councilors should make a point to attend the meeting as part of
their duty and responsibility. In
case a Councillor cannot attend for any reason, the Chairman of the
Constituent Jamaat should be informed who is empowered to appoint a
substitute to attend the meeting (Article 21 (b)(c)(i)(ii) and (e)).
Jamaats are requested to submit names and full contacts of their
Councillors to the Secretariat by 3rd March 2003 V E N U E:
